This restaurant does not offer good sushi. We tried the spicy scallop roll, which felt more like a spicy panko roll; I honestly don't think there was any scallop in it. The tuna avocado roll was lacking in tuna, with most of it being avocado. The eel cucumber roll was disappointing, as the eel tasted off and had an unpleasant chewy and slimy texture. The Rensselaer roll was simply not enjoyable. The hurricane roll was the only one that was somewhat acceptable, but that’s only because it was deep-fried; a cooked roll really shouldn’t be the best one at a sushi restaurant. This is by far the best sushi in the area. I've been eating here for years, and it's my absolute favorite! While Soho down the street is also good and offers more non-sushi options, Nishiki definitely has superior quality. When I'm with a group and not every member is a fan of sushi, I choose Soho. However, if it's up to me, I always opt for Nishiki. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and I really appreciate the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant. If you're in search of outstanding sushi, don't hesitate—make your way to Nishiki. You won't regret it!
I ordered delivery and tried some vegetable sushi and a crab ravioli appetizer. The filling in the ravioli, which reminded me of crab Rangoon, was tasty, but the wontons were a bit too thin and seemed a bit stale. The accompanying sauce didn't quite match the creaminess of the filling. I would have preferred a bit more spice in the chili sauce. The sushi was average for vegetable rolls. I might consider ordering again, but I wasn't particularly impressed. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
I can't comment on the sushi, as I only tried the chicken teriyaki, and unfortunately, it wasn't very good and didn't justify the price. The vegetables tasted watery and were clearly frozen, there was only a small portion of rice on the side, and the chicken had an odd texture, almost like it was grilled while still frozen or microwaved before grilling—I couldn't quite tell. Perhaps I just made a poor choice with my order.

I really enjoy their food. The takeout service is always speedy, and the prices are reasonable. The customer service is outstanding as well. I've been ordering from this restaurant for five years, and they've only made one mistake with my takeout order, but they did a great job resolving it. I highly recommend giving this place a try; the food is consistently excellent. It's definitely one of my favorite sushi spots!
