The experience at this restaurant wasn't extremely bad. There were just several things that went wrong, leading to an unpleasant experience. First of all, in the drinks there was no or a very small amount of ice, so in 5 minutes our cold drinks were unpleasantly warm. Further, the waitress knocked over some sauce at our table, this can happen but they took our cutlery and napkins but forgot tot bring new ones. When we asked, they still didn't bring everthing we asked. At the main course the fish was a very small portion leaving us hungry and 4 of the 6 people had cold plates. The entrecôte was well seasoned and prepared but also cold. Also, the wine and water we ordered arrived long after our plates finished and they forgot a bottle of still water we asked for. At dessert my sister got a really dirty spoon tot eat with and the pie was very cold in the middle, while the outside was warm and didn't look fresh like it was frozen and had been left outside the fridge for awhile.

We had a light lunch in No. 15 Salon de Thé by the old bridge with a wonderful view of the ruined castle and old watermill across the river. The quiche were delicious. The decor was interesting, quaint, reminiscent of an England long past 1930s perhaps as well as some old photographs of former local proprietors. We were amused as we normally avoid english kitsch when travelling but nowhere else was open in early October and the staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Curiously part way through one conversation it emerged that one of the staff spoke English fluently having been born in that country!

We stopped here for lunch today with our 2 lads. A friendly welcome from the hostess we sat outside on the lovely terrace listening to the river. the boys had lovely home made (enourmous) burgers we had steak fries. Lovely (close as you could get without actual clotted cream) cream teas to follow. Very nice definitely we will revisit if in the area you should pop in.

Great little place, we had a good lunch in the garden. Named a salon de the which is obviously their description but it is much more. You can get a traditional English afternoon tea etc but also many excellent other options during the day.
