I’ve been a loyal customer since Nonna Clementina's Gourmet was at their previous location, and it was fantastic back then. However, during my recent visit with my parents, I noticed a significant drop in quality. I ordered a sandwich with grilled chicken, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers, but the chicken was missing. When I returned, they gave me a replacement sandwich that still lacked the roasted red peppers, and the staff didn’t offer any apology. I also tried calling to address the issue, but they abruptly ended the call. Overall, the food quality has become mediocre, and the service is even more disappointing.
As a first-generation Italian, I'm always in search of a good Italian deli. A friend recommended this place, so I decided to order a 3-foot Italian hero for some guests. I picked it up at 3:45 PM, just before they closed at 4 PM. I really wish I had checked it before leaving. Unfortunately, it turned out to be mostly bread! The ham, cheese, and salami were sliced so thinly that they were barely noticeable, and there was hardly any lettuce or tomato. I was extremely disappointed and won’t be going back. Oh, and I paid $59 for it—totally ridiculous!
I’ve been coming to Nonna Clementina’s Gourmet since high school, over 10 years ago. This morning, I enjoyed their sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, which is one of my favorites. I also love their mozzarella, chicken cutlet, and roasted red pepper sandwiches. The staff works incredibly hard, and there’s a reason Massimo has kept this Closter deli thriving for so long. The food and service are top-notch. This place is a must-visit!
I visited this restaurant for the first time to try the sausage with peppers and onions. The onions were large and there were plenty of peppers, but the sausage was sliced so thinly that it was barely noticeable in the dish. I was quite disappointed. This will be my first and last visit.

The chicken cutlet with mozzarella and roasted peppers is consistently a favorite. The Italian hero is equally impressive. Both are guaranteed to please any crowd.
