I arrived at the restaurant about 40 minutes before closing time to place a takeout order. As soon as I walked in, I received a dirty look from a line cook who was shaking his head. I understand that it had been a long day, but I would have expected them to wait until I had left before expressing their displeasure. I have worked in the food service industry for years, so I know how it can be, but the atmosphere in the restaurant seemed very negative overall. The manager with the curly redish brown hair and glasses had a whole attitude for no good reason. We asked for chopsticks and she got very hostile and snappy. I understand everyone has bad days, but dont take it out on people who have otherwise been nice to you, we were a party of 3 just trying to celebrate our friends birthday. We were polite through the whole thing, I did point out that I didn't understand why she had an attitude with us since we did not have one with her. She was very unprofessional, we didn't get angry that she didn't ring in part of our order, we didn't demand anything. We just asked for a utensil.
The fast food pasta was tasty. When they began to close, we decided to sit outside. However, we were disappointed to find broken concrete covering the terrace and dried sauce on the tables. It seemed as though the outdoor area had not been cleaned in days. Our experience was further soured when the Counter Guy refused to give water cups to three teenagers who had arrived on bicycles. We overheard him saying to his staff, "now you have seen my dark side." Due to these issues, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
Review is only based on management and how unprofessional the staff was. The manager yelled at all the staff in front of a full restaurant, the girl up front just quit because of it and the rest of the staff were laughing at whatever the manager was saying about the situation. A few people got a refund and left. What a terrible person to have to work for. He seemed very unprofessional. He's more worried about conversation in the kitchen rather than hungry customers. This was my first time visit at this restaurant. There were several toppings you could choose from they would put it on a bowl of noodles. I had spaghetti with spaghetti sauce. It was ok, nothing special about it. It cost more than I thought it was worth though. It was ok for a fast, eat go resturant. I guess if you're really into pasta bowls, you would enjoy it.
I drove from Ankeny to this restaurant because they closed our local one. I really enjoyed the food, but the only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because I ordered tofu pad thai and it had chicken in it as well. If I were vegan or vegetarian, this could have made me sick, but fortunately I just prefer tofu.
