Normandy Hotel - Réserver une table

A very welcoming and friendly old hotel, and a good overnight stay en route to the south from le tunnel. The receptionist was charming, spoke a little English, and with our little French we managed very well.The room was on the second floor of the very old building, and with the temperature in the nineties we were worried that it would be like a sauna! We were pleasantly surprised to find a large, newly refurbished room, with two very large windows, a comfortable bed, and nicely decorated. There was a welcome tray, and free wifi that was easy to access. Nous avons voyagé de Calais à Toulouse et avons décidé de faire une halte à Evreux. Nous avons choisi l'Hôtel Normandie car il était proche du centre-ville et offrait également une place de parking à un prix très avantageux. Notre chambre était située au 2ème étage et avait un lit confortable. Cependant, le lit était très ferme pour nous et nous aurions préféré un matelas un peu plus doux. La température dans la chambre était assez élevée, sans autre option que d'ouvrir une fenêtre, ce qui rendait la pièce bruyante en raison du bruit de la circulation extérieure. A very pretty half-timbered building, a cheerful welcome and plenty of parking were a good start to our stay. The surroundings were attractive and it was easy to walk into the town to admire the Cathedral.We had a lovely room with comfortable beds, a choice of duvets, tea making facilities, plenty of towels and of course a bathroom.This was the only disappointment, as there was nowhere to perch the shower head. A 'shower' involved sitting in the bath and holding up the shower head! Probably this was only in our room, others must be better.We also ate in the hotel restaurant and had an excellent meal. Quelle magnifique découverte! Accueil très sympathique et service de première classe. Chambre impeccable avec lits confortables et excellente douche. Bel édifice avec une décoration originale. Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux. Je suis sûr qu'ils reviendront ici.

Longstanding local favorite. Classic Normandy dishes prepared to perfection. Attentive but not overbearing service. Staff speaks minimal English but did a great job handling non French speakers. Parking available in center court yard. Wheelchair accessible.
