Northern Soul Cafe

My party and I traveled from Troy,NY to Springfield for lunch. We came across this restaurant after our first choice was closed. The restaurant has recently opened and the menu is quite small, but the owner said more items will be added w/in the next fewweeks. Three of us ordered the fried chicken, mac&cheese and yams. I ordered the fried Whitings. The food was delicious! Theserving sizes were enough for two people. The service was wonderful and the restaurant, although small, didn't feel crowded andwas nice a clean. We will be returning. If you are traveling through or live nearby, run don't walk to the Northern Soul Cafe

Not for me proper handling is very important to me so when I see a food handler wearing one glove, Red Flag.And when I observe the ungloved hand touching food, You have to ask, What's the point? I purchased an order of fish n chips$15 And gave to myfriend who said the portion was minimal and lacked the proper seasoning, And she's a pretty good Caribbean Style cook. But withthe limited menu it's still too soon to say for sure how this new kitchen will fare.

It's the best restaurant I've been to in years they are super courteous lovely atmosphere and the food is the greatest. I would definitely recommend this African-American restaurant to anyone wanting a great meal

I really enjoyed my lunch here at Northern Soul cafe The food was amazingly good, fresh and soultish. I will definitely be returning to eat again. Thank you Matt.
