The décor in the dining area set up to look like a village street was fun when it was new (last century) but it is now tired; could do with some cleaning and paint at the very least. Wouldn't have mattered too much if everything else had been good. However, the service was quite indifferent. Wine poured into glasses outside of my view - did I actually get what I ordered?? No water delivered to our table, although I saw it delivered to other tables;; maybe they asked for it, but should one have to? But the icing on the cake of a bad night was when our food, which was prepared in a kitchen not more than 5 metres from our table, did arrive, the chips were lukewarm to cold; the salt and pepper squid had no flavour at all; and my burger was still bleeding. I like a rare steak, but even after letting a steak rest for a few minutes, the blood shouldn't flow. (I got a steak knife with my burger. What was THAT supposed to be for??) We go to this pub for a meal about once a year, hoping things will improve. So far, no indication that's gonna happen.

Visited on a Wednesday night, passed lots of bustling eateries on the way there... if it wasn't for our large crowd, there wouldn't have been more than two in there!Seemingly staffed by a few very young and apparently inexperienced lads, getting drinks at the bar took forever, two lads attempting to answer a customer's query, neither of them having the answer, and both oblivious to the other customers!Food also took forever to be served - by the same small crew of young lads, one lady waiting an hour for her meal.I had the chicken Caesar salad, very disappointing. The chicken was nice, but the bacon was chopped processed ham - wt? -the 'croutons' were those mini bread loafs one serves with pate, and the sauce was plain mayo. Loaded up with lettuce too. And not cheap, it cost $23.90. To sum up, won't be going there ever again. Plenty of much better places to spend one's cash and time!

This is 'the local', so we tend to eat here reasonable regularly. The menu has changed slightly over the past year, but not for the better (this depends on your taste, to be fair). The service used to be far better & meals could be ordered & paid for near the kitchen, howeve,r now all orders are taken at the bar. It seems they've reduced the staffing hours which means the service has dropped. The meals are still nice but nothing spectacular.

Waited 10 minutes before another patron questioned the bar lady why she hadn't served me (with an attitude of response to him!). Meanwhile, other staff member was pretending to clean and ignoring waiting people at the bar. Great priced drinks and range, but the service continues to be the worst. Not coming back again until this place changes hands/management.
