The setting is stunning with glorious views as you dine. For dinner, the prices were not cheap. We were 4 persons eating there and overall, we felt that the portions were small and lacked real taste, texture and quality. All were nicely presented, however, it was all basically average. We tried the fish, scallops, beef and risotto dishes. Eating out in switzerland is not cheap, however, if you pay close to 400sfr for a meal for 4 with no starters, only several ordering desserts, some wine and water, you want to leave feeling satisfied that it was money well spent.
We were part of a tour group but never felt treated like part of a crowd. We had a group dinner one night in the hotel which was one of THE BEST meals of our 3 week trip. Gorgeous room with pretty views of the lake. The breakfast room was nice and the food was plentiful and delicious! All of the servers throughout the hotel were tops!The lunch on the deck wasn't very good but the view would trump anything! (This is actually a review of 2 restaurants: inside is more formal, outside is more casual)
Not seeing the menu before deciding to dine here we were more than satisfied that we made a good choice. The staff are very friendly and attentive, our wine glasses were never empty. The restaurant is fine dining and the prices are slightly higher than the town centre, but it is definitely worth it what with the great food and lake view. The evening was quite chilly so I would recommend bringing an extra cardigan or scarf if sitting outside which is certainly recommended.
