I work in Yorkshire and live in Peterborough, but have friends and family in Kettering, so whenever I am passing through, I make a point of stopping here for something to take home and eat. The staff are SUPER nice people and really make you welcome. The place is absolutely spotless and modern. I have tried many things here and they are always tasty; but the kebabs are fantastic. The salad is always fresh and crispy, the chicken cooked in front of you on a BBQ style grill and the portions very generous. Yes, it is a chippy, but it’s a GREAT chippy. Infact, probably one of the best there is. We love it and it comes totally recommended by my whole family !! Looking forward to my next visit alr...
Thought as a family we would have a break from all the Christmas food and opt For cod and chips as its been a while and was looking foward to it. Sadly the cod that was (cooked to order) has no taste whatsoever and wasnt like Cod should be (what I call flakey layered)it was just a soggy mush of white goo And was loaded with water.despite just being fried the batter was also soft soggy and Horrible.the batter had become waterlogged from the fish my guess is that it was defrosted old stock.binned the lot awful and will never return.
Last night, I tried the gluten-free battered fish for the first time at Ocean Bay. My husband had the regular battered fish and we both found them to be delicious. The service was good, although I did have to wait a few minutes for my GF fish to be cooked. The servers were polite and friendly, and the fish and chips, mushy peas, and curry sauce were all delicious. I will definitely be returning for the GF battered fish on Fridays. Thank you, Ocean Bay.
I have dined at this restaurant several times and the food has consistently been excellent. The fish is always cooked to order, ensuring it is fresh and hot. They offer a great selection of fried foods and kebabs. On Fridays, they even have a gluten-free menu. One of the added bonuses is the ample parking spaces available right by the front entrance. Popped in for a few chips as we were out walking. Didn't realise we could sit down and eat in. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Offered us the best deals n took care of us. Excellent value and fantastic food. Was pleasantly surprised as we had never used this chippy before. Will definitely go back and 100% recommend on friendliness alone.
We called into Ocean Bay for some chips before going back to our hotel. We waited a few minutes while they finished cooking and they were delicious, the best chips I've had for a long time and we live at the seaside! The staff were so friendly and really wanted you to enjoy their food. Highly recommended.
