I have been getting my take away fish n chips at the Ocean Breeze for about 15 years. I first learnt about this fine establishment when it was written up in The Age Epicure as the best in the West. Whilst there is a lot more competition in the area my view is simple if it is not broken don't fix it. We eat fish n chips once every 2-3 weeks particularly after swimming lessons on Wednesday night. I always phone ahead and the grilled flake is a favourite. Many other establishments could learn a lot from this family run business. If I could suggest one thing to improve they need to add EFTPOS.
Definitely now my favourite fish & chip shop. The special flake was delicious...thick, perfectly cooked & very tasty. Batter was just right too. Service was great. If I were a mystery shopper I would be giving 100/100. I was acknowledged in a friendly manner as I walked into the old fashioned style fish & chip shop. Then after a minute or so was asked if I were ready to order. The shop had a great vibe as many people came in. Also being AFL Grand Final week it was decorated in Western Bulldogs paraphernalia...which added to the ambience. I will definitely be returning
I've been going to Ocean Breeze for well over a decade. In that time nothing has changed: same great fish and chips served by the same grumpy people.Grumpy is probably a bit unfair, but I'm pretty sure the family running it lost the love for the business long ago.But the point is the food, and it's great. The best in the west.My tip: the hamburgers are very old school fish and chip shopGet your fish grilled, it's delicious. Réservez une table maintenant
Heard lots of great things about this place and came specifically because of the fresh seafood. Didn't disappoint. Amazing to find a fish n chip shop that doesn't go the easy cheap route of frozen everything! The calamari and choice of fish was a killer. Definitely coming back to try the meat options!!! By the way the corn jacks are to die for. Great vegetarian option!!!
This is easily the best fish and chips in the West. We have had most things on the menu including Steak Sandwiches, Burgers, Souvlaki, Fish, Chiko Rolls, Crab Sticks etc and all is amazing!! These guys are always busy so phone ahead. Good sign of just how good they are.
