We have eaten at Octagon twice before while visiting CT and knew the menu. When we sat down we were not told it was a limited menu due to a dance competition, we over heard another table asking why so few items. We had already ordered drinks and were not about to leave but very disappointed. We were never informed of this when making reservation, checking in or when seated. Food was ok, not what I would have ordered and the restaurant needs a makeover... tables are all chipped and look dingy. When you are a steakhouse and charge steakhouse prices you expect the decor to be neat looking. Won’t be returning.
Well we stayed at the Marriott and I had made reservations not really realizing what type of place this was I thought it was more of an upscale restaurant. When we got to the octagon for dinner the ambience was nothing that we thought it would be. Very outdated definitely needs an upgrade but the service and food were outstanding if you’re looking for ambience this is not the place if you’re with your kids and wanna grab a burger or have a nice steak dinner and have great service this is the place thumbs up
The service was outstanding and the restaurant had a very pleasant environment. The menu at the restaurant was extremely limited which came as a surprise since on the website there is a huge variety. The salmon that some of us ordered was outstanding. Two of the guests ordered the steak. It was pricey, and they were surprised to find the meat tough. A big disappointment. I would recommend that the restaurant inform potential patrons that the menu does not reflect the availability when dining.
Meh overall. The hotel was slammed with a dance competition and convention causing apparent ‘in the weeds’ service. Heard a lot of ‘I’m sorry’s to tables around me. We had a cocktail served to us in a plastic cup, and my 42 dollar ribeye was room temp...cooked hastily, prob get a comparable piece of meet at a Denny’s. Nuff said. Very possible it was an ‘off’ night but...

Description in open table is so wrong. Menu was incredibly limited vs what is advertised. And no way they won a wine spectator award any time recently. They have like 10 Cabernets on the list first one was out, couldn’t find the second, finally found one. Food was uninspired.
there was a dinner reservation and was never said that the restaurant was closed, a bar table and an incredibly limited menu was offered. not something we need to deal with for a jubilee dinner to a first-class steakhouse. will definitely never be fed here.
The menu at this restaurant was quite limited, with 2-3 items missing from their regular menu. It was odd that no one was in the restaurant or the dining area. However, the service and food were both excellent.
NY strip was awful. Service was good and crab cakes were ok. Will not host another company dinner meeting at the Octagon

Top Notch food and service! One of the best quality steak places in CT The whole menu is delicious.
