This is not a steakhouse and instead, located inside the hotel. The photos that were added years ago are not a good indicator of the food available. Someone posted the menu 4 months ago and that's what it is, plain and limited. Came here first night of our stay because thought it'd be good, since it's in a Marriott. Ordered the chicken with two sides. I should have ordered the burger. The chicken was about 4 ounces, but most was bone. Everything else on the plate were the side vegetables which were terrible. This restaurant is located within the walls of the hotel but privately owned and operated. This is good to know because Marriott specials and discounts do to apply to this restaurant. I thought they did an excellent job of social distancing and customer service. Cindy our server was a doll! We were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She felt seen and cared for by Cindy's attention to detail and service. It was a very nice dining experience. We had a late lunch so we chose to share some appetizers and drinks. We began our meal with a Caesar salad, which I enjoyed alongside the crostini and fresh garlic. For the main course, we ordered filet mignon, scallops, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was cooked a bit less than I usually prefer, but it was absolutely delicious! The meat was tender and bursting with flavor, just right overall. However, I think a bit too much cracked pepper found its way onto the mashed potatoes, making them a little spicier than I would have liked.
The scallops were also quite tasty; my only issue was that the menu mentioned we would receive four scallops, but we only got two, so I’m not sure what happened there. For dessert, we had a triple chocolate torte...
Ate at the bar for quick service. Was greeted quickly but it took at least 5 minutes for anyone to come back to take our order. This wouldn't be unheard of usually but three bartenders were talking about 5 feet from us. The food was pretty good which is why they got two stars. I got the muscles which were nice but my wife's French onion soup didn't have enough broth. They didn't take any menus from us so it was awkward when the food came and there wasn't room. They didn't take my wife's plate away with mine even though we were both clearly done so it sat in front of her for a bit. Didn't check in with us during the meal. Honestly I went to a restaurant (the barn door) that forgot my order but my experience at the octagon was worse way worse. Firs they dropped someone 's plate or order then...then they did it I have a nut allergy and so they said do you guys want snacks? Ok we said they gave us PEANUTS!!!!! I 'm highly allergic to them and I was handed them I sorta let the let the falling stuff slide bet the peanuts did It message to this venue pay more attention and offer NUT FREE snacks Though the food was fine. One of the greatest breakfast buffets I've experienced at a hotel! The chef creates the most amazing omelets; I tried a southwestern vegetable one, and it was packed with fresh spinach, what I believe were enoki mushrooms, diced tomatoes, shallots, and peppers. They also offer tasty baby potato home fries with peppers, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, baked goods, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal. The service is quite efficient, and the staff are very accommodating. This is definitely a standout feature of the hotel!
The breakfast was great—delicious, affordable, and offered plenty of choices. The thick omelets were satisfying, and there was an impressive selection of other hot dishes. The fruit was fresh, too. Overall, it was a very good experience, especially for under $20 per person. That seems quite reasonable for a hotel restaurant, particularly since it’s the only option available in the area.
