Before our visit, I had reviewed the menu and found the selection to be very good. We were celebrating a milestone birthday with a group of 8 people. Orders were taken promptly and served in a timely manner, except for one person who received their order in a plastic bag after everyone else had finished. The servers came back 2 or 3 times to ask about his order, but neglected to check on anyone else or offer more food or drinks. The bento box he ordered was nothing special and was listed on the menu. I ordered the chirashi sushi, which was supposed to come with 12 pieces of sashimi on rice, but I only received around 8 pieces. The portion of rice was too large compared to the amount of sashi...
We’d ordered a few times from here and usually pretty good. We’d stuck with noodle dishes in the past, but expanded yesterday to try a few things. We ended up spending around $70 and it may be the worst meal I’ve ever purchased. Not kidding. Beef ribs tasted like mush, like bad meat, or something I’ve never tasted before. Like how do you mess those up to a point they’re completely inedible? It didn’t even seem like meat. Everything else was extremely wet and soggy like it sat in the car for an hour or in a steam room. So utterly dissatisfied with this restaurant. There are plenty of other good Asian fusion restaurants in the Durham region, we’d suggest you go elsewhere.
We decided to order from this restaurant online for delivery. Unfortunately, the steaks we received were not of AAA grade quality. Both the grilled steak and steak teriyaki were made from cheap cuts of meat. The Korean style grilled short ribs were lacking in meat, thinly sliced, and mostly consisted of bones. The sashimi was not very fresh, and overall, the dishes were bland. We felt that for the amount we paid, we would have been better off ordering from McDonald's. It was a disappointing choice for Mother's Day dinner. We have decided not to order from this restaurant again.
My wife and I have been loyal customers of Odine for several years and have always enjoyed the quality of the food. We appreciate the variety of both Thai and Japanese dishes available for the same meal. We particularly enjoy the Thai combo with Chicken Cashew, which includes soup, mango salad, and sushi. Some of our favorite Thai dishes are the street style pad Thai, seafood with XO sauce, and green curry. Overall, we highly recommend Odine for a delicious and satisfying dining experience. I had a spicy tuna roll and the deep fried wonton which I crave. I was raised in Vancouver and have travelled throughout North America. The worst deep fried wonton is in Springfield, Missouri but that is for another time. This is the best fried wonton ever. I don’t know where they get their wraps but the wrap and the filling are perfect. I have eaten in hundreds of Asian restaurants. This is the best deep fried wonton in North America.
Despite, having to eat at home and waiting for the delivery person, the quality and flavour of the food did not dissapoint. Even the delivery person was perfect. She did exactly as asked when following my delivery directions. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I no longer have my dining companion as he left this world due to illness October 2019, the food reminded me of our good times eating together at Odine.
Ordered ahead of time. Told ready in 15 mins. Waited for 15 mins before driving to pick up. Got there. Waited for 5 mins before waiter came asked me to pay and wait. 10 mins passed 2 persons came in and ordered on spot. Waiter told them 15 mins. 15 mins pass they get their order. I told the waiter where's mine. He said kitchen is busy. I said I called ahead and these guys just walked in. Never coming back.
