It is disappointing to encounter such overt racism in an LGBTQ+ establishment that should be championing diversity and inclusivity. For those prioritizing equality and respect for all in Albany, I recommend avoiding Oh Bar until they revise their discriminatory policies. Every individual deserves to feel included and respected, an area in which Oh Bar currently falls short. I will reassess and adjust my rating if there are any changes made in the future.
I have a lot of appreciation for Oh Bar. It’s a mid-sized gay bar that hosts events such as karaoke and trivia. It’s not a dance club; it’s more of a place to enjoy a good drink, relax, and maybe play some pool. In the summer, their patio out back is quite pleasant. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the bartenders make an effort to maintain a safe environment. I've seen them ask overly drunk or disruptive patrons to leave. On weekends, it can get quite busy, but it draws an older crowd compared to places like Rocks or Waterworks, which are more geared toward dancing and filled with college students.
I never actually went into this bar; I just happened to pass by. As I drove by, I noticed some young girls in front of the bar who were smoking and yelling some ridiculous comments at me. I'm giving the bar five stars out of respect for what I've heard about it in the news. However, I think it might be a good idea to have some security outside, similar to what Bombers has, to help manage the crowd. If you're a patron at a bar, it would be nice to see some class. I don't have any specific opinions about the bar itself.

Big Will the Bouncer said I had to give him a hug before I got in. I'm totally disgusted and I'm not going back to OH bar. I and my girlfriend felt hurt and my girlfriend said she didn't feel comfortable huging people in exchange to get in a bar.
I really enjoy this place! The drinks are fantastic, and I appreciate their gender-neutral bathrooms and the availability of free condoms. The service is excellent as well. Bartenders Michael and Rizzo are exceptional at what they do!
Great little place! Really friendly staff and good drinks. They've got a pool table and free popcorn and usually aren't too packed. Good option for a mellow night out (although it can get packed towards the end of the week).
I recently celebrated my birthday at this bar, and I had an amazing time! The bartender was fantastic and even assisted us in taking photos outside. Every time I visit this place, it’s always a wonderful experience.
