This review is purely on the omakase . While we went into this knowing it wouldn 't be completely traditional, I think omakase is a huge misnomer here, and a prix fixe dinner is more appropriate. There were a few bites that were really awesome, and then most other things were a really blah. I think we would 've been better off and much happier just ordering sushi ala carte.First, unless you have the actual four person table, the chef 's counter is kind of an awkward place at the expediting counter, which is cool on one hand seeing the orders, but still doesn 't have a great view on any prep, and also is a bit irritating when everyone keeps kicking or knocking into your stool as they pass thr...
The attentive staff made us feel welcomed and well-taken care of. Our server Rosie was extremely knowledgeable about both the food and drink menus, providing spot-on recommendations to cater to our tastes and the food came out in a very timely manner. Food was delicious, everything we tried and we will be returning to sample the rest of the menu especially as there is so much choice. Only complaint would be the cramped seating does make for tight quarters but the atmosphere was lively and not raucous even with how busy the place was. I can see why everyone raves about it and definitely will be a regular for date night and regular dining.
As soon as you enter, the hostess and staff at this restaurant are friendly, welcoming, and highly skilled. Customers receive top-notch service from the waitstaff and bartenders. The menu of drinks and food sets this establishment apart from others. OKO in Westport always exceeds expectations. This Birthday dinner was one of the best and most memorable experiences I've had.
More expensive than I had anticipated however definitely worth every penny. Provides nuanced sushi selections and an expanded beverage menu with various wines and cocktails which was nice. I would recommend to someone who can appreciate tasting and not just eating. This is not the place in my opinion for someone who simply wants to eat Réservez une table maintenant
Long time lover of Oko but Saturday night was poor form. Undercooked Wagyu, piece of paper in the sushi roll, drinks forgotten twice, dessert forgotten, food brought out at different times- not an Oko experience at all. Such a waste of an anniversary night. Ended up leaving and getting drinks and food somewhere else after.
I loved the food but we sat at the table right by the door and by the time we left we were freezing. I left my jacket on throughout the whole meal! I hope they can figure out a better way to keep the draft out every time someone goes in and out of the door. Will go back but will insist on a table far away from the door.
Food amazing, friendly efficient service. Just wish the music volume was a bit lower and lights didn't flicker (they seemed to change flicker with the rithm of the music, but I could be wrong) ??. Nothing terrible, but it bothered me enough that I paid attention to it .
I recently visited OKO in Westport for the second time and it was just as good as my first visit. The food is delicious and incredibly fresh, making me want to return every time. It has become my go-to spot whenever I go out with family or friends. I absolutely love it! Réservez une table maintenant
