If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I absolutely would! I drove 30 kilometers, hoping to enjoy some nice bagels, and even had to pay for street parking. I arrived at 11:00 am and purchased two onion bagels, three everything bagels, and one pumpernickel. When I got home to prepare lunch, I found the bagels to be rock hard and completely devoid of flavor. What a waste of time and money! The next day, the three bagels I had left were still as hard as rocks – you could have used them as hockey pucks! I recommend sticking with Dempster's; at least their bagels are fresh and tasty. I give this place a zero rating. Don't waste your money on these!
I'm not certain if Jessie is still the owner of this bagel shop, but I remember visiting when he was at the counter. Back then, the place was always clean, organized, and offered excellent service. However, during my recent visit, I was quite disappointed to find the counters messy and unclean, and the smell was off-putting. The service was also lacking; it took almost 30 minutes just to order and receive a single bagel. It no longer has the charm and atmosphere of a Montreal bagel shop. Overall, it was quite disappointing, and I won't be coming back.
I make a special trip just to buy bagels from this place. They are baked on-site in a traditional brick oven, and you can watch the bagels being made. They have a delightful Montreal-style, and are absolutely delicious. There are several varieties to choose from, including all the classics. It's great not having to travel to Toronto for bagels like these!
I highly recommend visiting this place for a quick snack or even a full meal. The bagels are enormous, and no matter what you choose to put in them, you can count on a great presentation. We tried the everything bagel with bacon, egg, cheese, and plain cream cheese, as well as the everything bagel with spinach and feta cheese. Both were delicious! Réservez une table maintenant
I ordered a veggie sandwich that featured a potato patty and an assortment of fresh vegetables. I appreciated the generous amount of veggies they included. I’ve had my fair share of bagel sandwiches, and although this one was delicious, it lacked that special touch that would have made it stand out as truly amazing.
