We booked a table for 14.00pm and did not receive our meal until 15.15pm. A member of staff did not even come and ask if our meals were satisfactory. We also ordered some side orders but these did not arrive but they still tried to charge us for them. When we went to pay our bill a male member of staff was abrupt and rude he just said do you want to pay did not even say thank you or good bye turned back and carried on serving customers. It was my first time at Old Bell. Atmosphere was friendly and feel quite like home. I had 3 meal course. I ordered Prawn cocktail for starter, I was disappointed with the proportion of it but it was lovely. My main course was lasagne. I have to say that was delicious! It's in chef's classic menu so I recommend it. Lastly, I went for something simple for dessert like 3 scoops of chocolate ice cream. It was ordinary, nothing special. I wish they would do like ice cream sundae though.
We wanted to try English food and the Wokefield Park Hotel recommended the Old Bell. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was very good. We started with the Korean Chicken appetizer. It was tasty. For dinner we had a Meat Pie and the Chicken Tikka. Both were outstanding. The beer and service were also very good. They have a large selection- something for everyone. And their prices were very reasonable. I would definitely return for another good meal.
I have been staying at the Premier Inn next door all week for work. Food and staff here have been outstanding. Super attentive and foods been great. Would highly recommend this place. I went to this restaurant because it's conveniently located next to the Premier Inn. They offer a separate vegan menu with a nice variety of starters, main courses, and desserts. The pie with vegetables and roast potatoes was delicious, as was the chocolate tart. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.
Great night out, good food and service. There was quite a lot of us all having different meals and we all got what we wanted and the wait wasn't too long. No doubt we will be back for another meet up in the not too distant future. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Weird service. Restaurant was empty yet everyone who waited on us was SO slow and also acted a little strange. You'd think the place was packed to the brim based on the way they were acting. Food wasn't bad, good portions... but the service was just extremely lacking.
