Old House Cosmopolitan Grill

Great place for Schnitzel! I've been on extended business a few times and came across another German cuisine location and stumbled across this restaurant later. Both serve traditional German dishes. I visited both twice during my trips to Alexandria, VA.For Schnitzel, Old House Cosmopolitan is my preference. Dinner was served hot, great portion size and tasty fried potatoes. Schnitzel breading was perfect and thickness of Schnitzel was my preference. I still would prefer a vegetable on the plate as well. I also ordered the house salad with vinaigrette and it does remind me of home. Dinner is served quickly so I was not able to finish it before main dish (both visits).Service was exceptional....

take into account a visit for a great unique experience. had a great German food today, a great Croatian red wine and a few great desserts, with a Bosnian touch to experience. with all that has said, one would think that there is an identity crisis, but that is the amazing part of our experience. one of the owners served us what is amazing considering how long this place was around. with this rare type of great service he shared the history of food as a man from Bosnians who lived in Germany. really a unique eating and cultural experience is worth trying.

It is a an awesome place. Very attentive and personable staff. Food was delicious. We had 4 dinners and a few appetizers and all were prepared simply perfectly. Definitely a local gem.

Service from the staff was very good. The jagerschnitzel meat was tough and hidden by too much sauce. The pretzel and meat was okay but would not get again for price.

Amazing food and quality of service. Goulash and Black Forest cake are divine. Paulaner on tap was lovely as well. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
