one of the best experiences since I was in Switzerland since 3 weeks. we were served by this beautiful Greek dame. I regretted not asking for her name. She was amazing. we ordered escargot for beginners, ravioli with morille, bark strawganoff, the famous...Veal schnitzel and chocolate mousse for dessert. everything was fantastic. the calves are cooked in butter before them. not for the weak hearts and any diets they are, goes out of the window. but it was worth every calorie. the portions are generous and we were so full at the end of the evening meal. my friend and I had a really nice time and would come back in definitiw if we were in lucern.
it started with my hardship to find something about the menu for this restaurant online. I saw some pictures of other diners online and on the strength of the recommendation of tripadvisor for this restaurant for fondue, decided to try it. there was nothing remarkable. about this restaurant. sometimes old and traditional facilities are cozy. this one looked just boring and uncompressed. eating was marginal, and the craving carving prepared on our table by our server was totally unnoticed. we had a remarkable success with eating in the course of our week in Switzerland, but with the old Swiss house ran out our luck.
has been in the old swiss house several times and always enjoyed it. it was never avant garde in the did the menu never changes, but what they do is always well done. this time the service was not up to usual...standards and we found dishes that we previously enjoyed quite salty. my wife even had several pieces of hard meat in her calfs. the Swiss chardonnay was good. we found ourselves in a curved spot close to a glass cabinet full of antique buttons decanting, which had a very bright and intense light. the glass was in serious necessity of a laundry and the silver a good polish!
my man and I both grew up in luzern and we were already many times during our youth in the old Swiss house and also when we lived in luzern. many years have passed and yesterday, December 3, 2020, we returned to the old Swiss house to celebrate curts 75 B “day. it was just wonderful. from the moment we went to the restaurant until the moment we were gone. more friendly, more accurate service. delicious freshly prepared carving a joy! fresh dessert and a beautiful surprise mini gugelhopf B’day cake! we'll be back soon!
