The Old Town Deli is one of my favorite hole-in-the-walls to visit for lunch. If you’re a foodie, You’ve probably heard of the Stinky Salad in Old town, and this is the place to get it. It’s technically called the Sampler Salad, and it’s really simple” chopped romaine lettuce, green pepper, onions and pita chips, and you can add grilled Greek Diner-style Athenian chicken breast chunks on top. The hard part to duplicate is the red wine vinegar-based dressing with has loads of garlic, lemon and sumac. This is a review of breakfast. Restaurant is a hole in the wall Greek deli run by Hispanics. None of which is an issue. Had good reviews so we tried it for breakfast. Mistake. Maybe they are great for lunch but the breakfast was bad. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich that was OK. My wife got eggs and grits and the eggs over-easy were over-hard and the grits were inedible. Despite us being the only people in the restaurant they made us come to the counter to get the food and despite telling them we were eating in the food was in takeout containers. Love it here! Right by my office and I often go for breakfast and lunch. Love their breakfast sandwiches and every sub I have tried, I have liked!! So reasonably priced compared to anything else Old Town has to offer. The entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!! My favorites are their sausage egg and cheese on a bagel, their steak and cheese sub and their buffalo chicken sub.
Old Town Deli may be a hole in the wall, but they have excellent food. The staff are friendly, fast, and great cooks. Sandwiches are under $10. I purchased the chicken kabob platter $15. When I opened my lunch at the office the yummy smell called out to my coworkers. They quickly went to Old Town Deli to get the same. I also have sampled their breakfast sandwich. ?

Unpretentious place that serves cheap quick service lunch and breakfast. For old town it is quite affordable. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. I got the club, which was pretty good, and the onion rings, which were excellent. The Greek platter my partner got was also a good choice.
I placed a catering order three weeks before a scheduled event. Old Town Deli canceled my order two days before the event. I think this speaks to this place's overall unreliability.
I haven 't lived in the DC area in over 20 years and I still dream of Old Town Deli 's stinky salad (aka sampler salad). First stop on my list every time I visit!
Alexandria needs more places like. Good food at a good price. Nothing fancy inside with the folding tables and chairs but the food is hot, fresh, and delicious.
