Easily the best burger in town. If I'm coming through Placerville I've got to stop at Old Town Grill. The food is fresh and made with love. The owner John is an incredibly nice man who will remember your name for years and greet you kindly upon walking in on days he is working. The bacon blue cheese burger is a personal favorite. The outdoor seating area is well shaded and lovely. The decor is eclectic and the live parrot living inside the restaurant may not be for everyone but it certainly adds to the unique local charm of the restaurant. This is the lunch spot in Placerville. Don't let the lines scare you away, service is fast and the food is more than worth the wait.
Friendly staff and a definitely popular with the locals. Staff is careful with your order and is read back to you prior to accepting payment. Nothing wrong with thoroughness! Food is cooked to order so there is a wait but food is cooked perfectly and presented well. Staff is available to refill your water or beverage and to assist customers. Met the owner briefly and he is extremely welcoming! Highly recommend this establishment.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. We went to Placerville for the day and there is so much mining history! This restaurant was mine themed in the bathrooms which was pretty cool. The server was very plesant and was all smiles. I got the veggie burger and the wife got a bacon shroomery cheeseburger. Our children split chicken fingers and a cheeseburger. Everything turned out great and we will return next time we are in town
Love the people and the food at this heart-of-Placerville restaurant! The owner is a solid supporter of the community and an incredible chef. Today I had the special: chicken salad with fresh fruit and an orange vinaigrette. Hot, hot day so it sounded good but that combo? I never should have doubted John's ability with flavor combinations. Delicious!
