We made a reservation for the Bar and when we arrived there was no space at the bar. The hostess seemed confused about our request and seemed to leave it up to us about what to do. My thoughts are don’t ask if I want a table or bar rezzies if there’s not going to be any chance of sitting at the bar, which we prefer over tables. Another server came in and said we could sit at a table that just happened to be empty, but not cleared yet. After being seated, it took over 10 mins get put a drink order in and over 10 mins to get our drinks. It took 10 more mins after that to place our food order. In general, the dining experience wasn't the worst but there were some small things that could have made it much better. Our server was very friendly and welcoming, but they had to handle several large parties and seemed to be struggling to keep up as a result. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, and the biscuit was burnt to the point where I couldn't eat the top of it, and it was served cold. Everyone in our group thought the food was just okay, not great. Our bill came to $125 for five of us at brunch. We were first sat at a table that shouldn’t be in the place it is. It was partly into the opening of the kitchen. Staff were back and forth out of it bringing food. I asked and they moved us. The spiced pear cocktail was fantastic. The salmon patty was super thin and way over cooked. The oyster mushrooms were excellent! The BLT and fries were great but had sat too long. The fries were cold. The duck was good but not good enough for the price. It took 75 minutes to get our entree from the time we ordered. We loved the look and feel of the restaurant but nothing else stood out enough for us to ever go back.
Wife and I had a nice little date night. Great drinks and good food. Not quite a Charlotte dinning experience but close and easy to get a table. We would recommend to friends. The shrimp toast was excellent. The banana bread pudding came with the tasting (don’t care to much for banana) but 100% exceeded expectations. A must try! Réservez une table maintenant
