O'leary's Publik House

It's a locals and local cop bar pretty much. Has an outdoor patio that you can see the NYC skyline from a distance too for when it gets warmer.The atmosphere is a dive bar kind of feel. Has a juke box, TV's and seems a lot of regulars.I had the burger and I ordered it medium it came out more medium well to well but damn it was a freaking good burger even with the botch temperature. I could only imagine how much better it could have been if it was medium instead but again still very juicy and delicious. I would definitely come again even if it was just for the food.The bathroom could use some TLC for sure. Hence the one star taken off and missed temp.You like dive bars and good burgers come here. We went here on a Saturday afternoon and it was nice enough. My biggest gripe is that our food orders were all wrong. We ordered a chili dog with mustard we got a plain dog with mustard. We ordered the chicken Philly wrap with onion rings. Got the wrap and no rings. I mean I guess it's fine overall but the guy clearly couldn't remember all the info being thrown at him. Drinks were fine, nothing complicated, but we went there for food primarily so it was a little disappointing. Would appreciate if the servers maybe wrote orders down or something to avoid these kinds of errors. And no I didn't say anything because I wanted to just let it go since he seemed overwhelmed. Ah well. Next time.

One of my favorite bars in Jersey City! Fun bartenders and great beers on tap. Solid burger and really good fries. Cheesesteak eggrolls are fire. No frills and welcoming of everybody. Who doesn't love an cop/firefighter Irish bar that throws an awesome gay pride party?

I was here a handful of times and while the music, the crowd and the drinks are decent, I learned to avoid eating. o’leary’s was the only meal I had yesterday and I don’t feel good. it wasn't the first time I felt that way.

Big burger! Nothing beautiful, but offers foods that have the basics right... and really good local mood and good price, even I rarely give 5 stars
