From the outset, I want to be clear, the staff here were wonderful, and the food was good chippy standard. (A little overpriced, but that's probably due to the economy more than the owners . My dining companions had the seafood platter, and both thoroughly enjoyed it. My F'n'c's were good. Nice fresh fish and plenty of tasty proper chips. Now, here are the gripes: My MiL had tried to book but been told she couldn't book, only to be told when we arrived that we should have booked! Then we were told we couldn't make a booking for that lunchtime on person The waitress epads don't have the full menu on them, so the poor waitress has to do part on the pad then run downstairs to do the rest. That narks me, and we could see it flustering our waitress. Finally again its not massive, but if you advertise bread and butter, that's what you should sell. Whatever was on my bread didn't taste like butter to me. Overall, it's a decent place to grab your f'n'cs from. Afaik the only eat in chippy in Redcar (with proper tables and chairs etc. , so it's always pretty busy. Imo upstairs is nicer than down. Parking: No parking places immediately outside, though there are paid spaces, a short walk (75-100m away Wheelchair accessibility: They can accommodate wheelchairs but space is tight. Definitely book if you have to eat downstairs.
