Every time I call this restaurant, there seems to be an issue. When I asked for seafood, the person on the phone simply told me that seafood is made to order and asked what I wanted. I requested grilled salmon, and then she told me it was kind of late to place an order at 7 PM, by the time I finally got home. I don't understand their timing—it definitely doesn't seem to follow "Island time"! The food is decent, but it feels like the only time you can really order is between noon and 3 PM, almost as if they're catering to the bus company across the street. The hours they operate are definitely questionable.
This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last. I tried the chicken curry lunch special, which came with rice, vegetables, and a plantain for just $7. The meat was so tender it fell right off the bone! My friend ordered the oxtail, and I have to say it was the most tender I've ever had, perfectly seasoned too. I'm already planning to return very soon—maybe even tonight! It was that delicious! The atmosphere makes you feel like you're enjoying authentic Jamaican cuisine in someone's home. The older woman who served me at the counter was also the cook, and she was just as sweet as can be.
I stumbled upon this restaurant without realizing it was nearby, and based on the photos, the food looked appetizing. I decided to stop by for lunch, and it was truly delicious! I ordered curry goat with vegetables, plantains, and roti, and wow! You can tell the food is made with love and care. The woman there, whom I believe is the owner, was incredibly nice and provided attentive service. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking some good soul food. I can't wait to try more dishes!
Excellent! This restaurant has always served tasty food, but their phone etiquette wasn't the best. They've completely turned that around, and I hope they continue to maintain this high standard. They offer authentic jerk chicken, grilled over an open flame, and it's absolutely delicious! With fantastic food and now exceptional customer service, I highly recommend it! This is a great spot for some delicious food! The jerk chicken with rice and peas was very tasty, though you might want to be careful about the occasionally chopped bone pieces. The shrimp and chicken patties were also delicious and packed with flavor, featuring a wonderfully flaky crust. The staff was friendly, adding to the positive experience.
