The beer here is quite good, and they offer a nice variety. The patio is pleasant and the interior has plenty of space. However, I really dislike their pricing approach, and the implementation is frustrating. There are no servers or bartenders; essentially, you are responsible for everything. You pour your own drinks, clear your own table, and handle your own billing. The drinks come from a tap that measures by ounces, and there's no indication of how much you're pouring—it's all a surprise. Additionally, the drinks aren't cheap. They issue you a card for billing, and when it comes time to tip for the service you provided yourself, you have three options: good (18%), great (20%), and amazing...
We came here for something to do after traveling to the area for work. Going in on a whim, our expectations weren’t the highest. But that was changed from the moment the brewskis started pouring. I love the pay-as-you-go system, which allows you to build a custom flight before settling in on one or two beers. The food was great. The pork plate was seasoned just right, and adding the Virginia white and Spicy Korean sauce took it to another level. The slaw was just right, but the macaroni salad was the star. It took me back to my grandma's macaroni salad. I wanted to try the mac and cheese, but several people had just left it on their platter. Side-note spend the money on the cheddar biscuit.
Interestingly, the best part of Ono is the sister businesses co-located with them, a BBQ place. Most of the Ono beers were OK but low on characer (we tasted all of the non-IPA beers). The best, which was, in fact, quite good, was Hellyes Helles. Ono brewing runs on a pretty cool self-service system. You, or your party, depending on how you want to pay, are given a card. You present the card to a reader at each tap and pour as much as you like. The volume of each pour is tracked and charged when you check out. Taster, as well as larger glasses, are available. I'd go back, but I might just stick to the Hellyes, unless I wanted some more coconut porter, which was my second favorite.
Couple of decent brews but the pour system is overly gimmicky. Had to go back in line every time I encountered an issue (card was saying no credit left) even though my payment card was good. So frustrating.Initially, we thought it was pour first then pay.That said, Island Time and Pipeline Pilsener are highly recommended. By the time we figured it out, the confusing system already ruined the experience.

Beer was good but BBQ was amazing. My family and I dropped in without researching it because we were in the area and I was blown away. My favorite were a few dishes with Asian influenced flavors. Definitely coming back even though it's out of the way.
I absolutely love the self-serve concept, and all the beers we sampled were fantastic! Plus, the barbecue was excellent. We'll definitely be coming back here regularly.
Has a nice variety of beer. I liked the concept that you pay per ounce instead of having to pay for a cup of each beer you want to try. The staff is also friendly.
Funky pour yourself beer. Great selection, easy to do and manage what you drink. If the service sucks you can only blame yourself.
