Spicy Tuna Chips: 3/5 Uhhh my chips were incredibly tough. My mom and I couldn't chew the chips that easily. Atleast the spicy tuna dip was good Shrimp tempura hand roll: 5/5 This hand roll was good. They don't drizzle the sauce on for you, you get to dip or drizzle the sauce yourself Fried Fish roll: 4/5 Not a bad roll, but not a favorite. I love that the fish were deep fried. I don't think I've seen a lot of deep fried FISH rolls in other sushi restaurants Chicken Katsu entree plate: 3.5/5 There were more bread crumbs than chicken, so it didn't feel very filling with the lack of meat. Orange Roll Sushi has been our favorite sushi spots to go to when down in SoCal. It has to be one of the best sushi restaurants that we've been to and actually enjoy their rolls. Hubby and I stopped by after a day out and ordered some rolls to bring back to our hotel to eat. This would be the third location that we've been too and so far all of them have been amazing! Staff was friendly and gave us time to look over their menu to decide what we wanted to get. We decided to get about 6 rolls to share and once we placed our order we waited about 20-30 minutes as some of them were baked. Stopped by for a quick dinner around 5pm. It was starting to get a queue so I can definitely see a wait if you come past 6pm on prime days. I ordered the combo and in retrospect, I wished I ordered other rolls. For my combo, I chose the spicy tuna roll and the crispy roll. I didn't like the spicy tuna roll much and felt like it all kept falling apart when I was eating. The crispy roll was very basic but hit the spot. My miso soup came warm and very quickly cooled down. My favorite item was the fried soft shell crab with the dipping sauce.
My husband and I visited the restaurant on a Friday evening around 5 PM. We were warmly welcomed and seated almost immediately. We ordered three rolls: the Hawaiian and the Sunrise Oh Yeah, and they were all delicious. The fish tasted incredibly fresh. My husband also tried the ramen; he said it was good but probably wouldn't order it again. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. Had this restaurant bookmarked for a while since moving close by in the neighborhood. Loved the specialty rolls and nigiri that we got for takeout. I ordered over the phone and then sent the hubs to pick up our food. The person I spoke to over the phone was nice and gave us an estimated time when the food would be ready. The one item that stood out to us was the sunset roll. super delicious. will definitely come back for more.
I have been a regular customer since the opening several years ago and generally like their food. Today's bento box was very disappointing: Teriyaki chicken was very dry with minimal Teriyaki sauce; California Roll was falling apart; Mixed tempura vegetables were very hard. I know they can do better and hope my next meal is better.
The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. I visited on a weekday for lunch, and there was plenty of seating available. The interior is quite spacious as well. I tried the OC, Euclid, and Fire Cracker rolls, and they all tasted amazing with incredibly fresh fish.
