The low rating this restaurant has is truly surprising! First and foremost, I want to say that I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is delicious, and I'm more than willing to pay a bit extra because I enjoy my meals here every single time. The golden deep-fried scallops and the Dragon rolls are among my top favorites! I also really enjoy their cooked beef dishes. This restaurant is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t let other people's opinions dictate where you choose to eat. Many people I've encountered don’t really know the difference between good and bad food, so why trust their judgment? Give things a try for yourself and form your own opinions! The food here is actually quite good. Although the service could use some improvement, the prices are higher than Mikado, but the quality of the nigiri sushi, sashimi, and other dishes is comparable. I visited today for lunch with two friends, and we ordered deluxe sushi, deluxe sashimi, chicken kara-age, and beef tataki. Everything was delicious! The sashimi included yellowfin (not bluefin, as mistakenly mentioned by one of the reviewers), as well as toro and other staples like tako and salmon.
Best sushi we have had in alberta in a long time. Ordered the boat and was not disappointed. Portions were so large we could not even finish with two of us and had to take lots home!<br/ <br/ Our Server was a refreshing change as well. She remembered our names and brought good conversation and recommendations to our experience. Prices were reasonable for west edmonton with a boat beers. Low crowds meant instant service. Food came within 10 mins!<br/ <br/ Would recommend for any sushi lover.
We were very pleasantly surprised. Finding a good sushi place in landlocked Alberta is tough, but Oranj really was a lot better than we expected. The sashimi was surprisingly fresh and good quality, the rolls were great, and the sushi pizza was pretty interesting! All in all I would definitely recommend this place. We are pretty picky about sushi as we've had some pretty amazing experiences (Hawaii, Hong Kong, Vancouver, San Francisco to name a few). Réservez une table maintenant
The food at this restaurant is on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth it. My friend and I shared a lunch that cost around $60, and we left feeling completely satisfied and full. The dishes were delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt. However, I was not a fan of the beef tataki; it was incredibly bland and lacked any flavor. You can find much better tataki at other places for a lower price.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. I sat down and decided to Google the restaurant. Initially, the ratings concerned me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi. The Philadelphia roll, sushi pizza topped with salmon, and the spring salad rolls were all excellent!
