We had a family meal to celebrate my wife's birthday, the food and service were great. My criticism is I'm coeliac and whilst ordering my meal I was told they don't stock gluten free bread or crackers , but did cater for vegetarians and vegans which are lifestyle choices not a medical condition like coeliac disease. I had to eat my starter without bread and couldn't have the cheese board because they had no crackers. These days both are readily available in most supermarkets but they couldn't be bothered to stock them. Very disappointed.
Our overall dining experience was fantastic. We felt a bit hurried because we arrived late and weren't aware that the table needed to be turned quickly. The steaks we ordered were delicious! Our first waitress could have been more helpful and polite, but the male waiter who took over later was outstanding and enhanced our dining experience. He even moved a noisy group of men near the entrance. We will definitely be coming back!
Another fantastic meal at ounce last night so glad we had booked a table given another **** lockdown has arrived. The food is always perfect and the staff are so lovely. But PLEASE bring back the blue cheese crumble. Also maybe a possibility of a non alcoholic drinks list if at all possible : (maybe a nonsecco for us preggos? Cant wait for our next visit as soon as you reopen! Stay safe guys!
A second great meal at Ounce on 30th December. Me and my girlfriend were served by Lauren, who was excellent all evening. I had a 14oz Butchers cut £1 per oz!! which was divinely tender and wonderfully cooked. My partner equally enjoyed her meal. I can't recommend this place enough.

We managed to get a last meal in before lock down and it was great, lovely steaks, great atmosphere, friendly staff and great value, especially Tuesday and Wednesday £1 an ounceCannot wait until they open again, but will no doubt use the takeaway nights they do during lockdown.
This is purely a personal preference but, I wasn't too happy about a largish dog standing at the next table. Dogs in a pub garden are fine but I don't think it appropriate in a restaurant that is small with tables close together,
Disappointed. We wanted rib eye but only one left. Steaks over cooked came well done not rare Steak ok but not great quality meat. Staff less than helpful meal was rushed All in over priced relative to quality of food and service
Came here after so many recommendations and it didn’t disappoint. Lunchtime on a Saturday, glass of wine and shared the chateaubriand, cooked to perfection and highly recommend the Cauli cheese! Can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant is charming and the food is wonderful. The wine was placed on the table for us to pour ourselves, which is very unusual these days for a nice restaurant.
We had been discussing going to this restaurant for a while, and we are glad we finally did. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was laid-back.
