While we normally try to remain 'true' to the cuisine of the country in which we are travelling, Conflans had relatively little choice, and Kafeneion had come highly recommended by our host. It didn't disappoint, so it appears that we will have to add Greek food to our list of French cuisine! We took the easy way out by choosing the 'Gourmand' menu. The Poakilia entree - a selection of ~10 mezes - was superb. A great way to start the meal with lots of little taste sensations. For mains we chose the Moussaka and the Trio mixed grill. I don't know how they managed to get the chicken and lamb kebabs so tender, but they were excellent. The only disappointing feature of the meal was the dessert. The baclava was a bit dry - a bit more honey would have helped. And the restaurant special take on Tiramisu was just a very rich chocolate dessert in a glass. The service was very prompt (unlike many French restaurants) and the atmosphere was wonderful in an open air area on a balmy July evening.
