We visited the restaurant to celebrate a milestone birthday, as a family, on a Monday evening. I booked via email and Sandra, whom I corresponded with throughout, couldn’t have been more accommodating and kind with my various requests for table time changes and children’s options. On arrival we were seated by a gentleman who I assume to be the owner/manager. As per a previous review we too struggled with his somewhat brisk manner. An offering to take coats perhaps would have been appreciated and a kind greeting would have been warmly received. The food itself was mixed- my scallops were incredible and those who chose the mushroom soup found it delicious. However my fillet steak was very chew...

We recently visited with family. Unfortunately there was not a single course myself, my partner or my children enjoyed. If it weren't for the fact I was with a large party and did not want to make a fuss I would have sent all courses back to the kitchen (scallops undercooked, beef overcooked and no baileys whatsoever in the mousse) The presentation of the food was OK but there was no flavour. It was so bland.. as if a very inexperienced chef was in the kitchen and when charging those prices that is really Inexcusable!! It says alot when even the children were complaining about the food.. They had very dry overcooked chicken with some broccoli and penne pasta served in passata, again no flavo...

This review is a little mixed and it is intended to be constructive as well as informative for future clientele. We went with high expectations and left somewhat disappointed. All establishments have their good days and off days. The restaurant itself is extremely white and bright, not really conducive for a relaxing meal (in my opinion). It's winter time and there was nowhere to hang your coats except on the back of the chair and then they dragged on the floor. Our welcome was fine. There is a fairly comprehensive Wine Menu, competitively priced, but at no point were we offered water, a touch that sorts the good from the bad. The produce is clearly top quality and cooked very well indeed. S...

I travel for good food! was really looking forward to the scallops, they were indeed delicious and well cooked, I would have liked more of the vanilla puree though as that was why I chose to visit here. The fish main was lovely and beautiful presentation, the saffron potato puree was divine and the crisp basil leafes were a fine dining touch. The lemon posset dessert was my highlight, I don't even like lemon desserts but this was to-die-for. I therefore decided to have a second dessert ! of chocolate brownie but it was no different to what you would get in a Wetherspoons, overcooked and a bit crispy, the only letdown. The bread accompaniment....just two slices of bread, nothing special, I co... Réservez une table maintenant

An accessible fine dinning experience for all. High quality atmosphere, service and presentation. The only thing better than the relaxing environment was the executional cuisine. Every dish highlighted local farms and specialties, and was priced very reasonably. For our meal, we enjoyed the Seared Scallops to start and the Fillet of Devon Beef for the main. Both were cooked to perfection and tasted better than they looked. To end the meal, my husband had the house specialty, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and I enjoyed the Lemon Posset with Fresh Fruit. The husband and wife pair running the restaurant are friendly, and aspire to provide an exceptional dinning experience to all their guests. Highly r...

Me and my family visited this delightful restaurant for my great uncles birthday he is 89 his name is Ben dover and he really likes tasty posh food so we decided to go to the owl and the pussycat and this was a great decision the meat was so succulent and juicy and the service was immaculate. The owner was lovely and kind and the waiting service was brilliant. Full credit to the chef for a wonderful meal. We also have to give credit to the pot wash the plates were immaculate and clean so full credit to him. This place deserves to thrive. It was well worth the £112.58 and kitkat bar.

Such a lovely, friendly, cozy restaurant, a family business run with a lot of panache. We tried some amazing local dishes and sampled also a very interesting North African inspired one. We will go back to Teignmouth and to The owl and the pusycat in a heartbeat (the poem is also inspiring). Thank you for making our trip to Devon so memorable! Silvia and George from Kent

Starters of scallops were very good, duck main was very good, but the ribeye steak was awful, It was tiny, overcooked, I asked for medium rare it was more like we’ll do e. Absolutely no seasoning at all on it..,. And a bit on the pricey side….. Réservez une table maintenant
