first, this is my first negative review of each device since the beginning of the Kovid...not that there are no bad food or situations. just no one who annoys me and shocks me more then! my partner and I arrived for a quick snack and coffee. when I sat outside, my partner went in and ordered. we have our muffins in a to-go bag. I thought he had gone through the Kovid protocols to order and was told that the coffees were brought to us. the one young woman who took the command had said to stay we would have to go through the covid protocols, but if another young lady came out and gave us our coffee, we had no one who asks us for a pass. and not 5 minutes later the first young woman came out an...
in future I want to avoid this place, unless the owners are those who cook or least monitor it. personal, although friendly enough, very lack of professionality that this charming restaurant has delivered in past. Unfortunately, it seems that the owners have decided to leave their high quality food delivery, even on the way out, and let them take over inadequately experienced young workers who even admit that they have never consumed the products they are preparing. such a terrible scandal.
Pleasant cafe on the main street, on the side of the Chemainus Theatre. Good home cooked cafe food (scones, quiche, cake, brownies, etc) plus an extensive chalk-board menu of made-to-order breakfast and luncheon foods. If you choose the latter, be prepared to wait a little.. as thry say, good food takes time to prepare. Tasty when it does arrive. If you are pressed for time, choose something that is on display. Clean, friendly just a nice cafe with eclectic decoration.
I enjoy the fact they serve breakfast all day long and its just not B&E and omelettes but they have some hi end cooks/chefs that are not afraid to try something different. They have very friendly staff and Ive noticed more than once Ive been...there they support the community as they served the striking western forest workers coffee and treats. THis is what community is all about....Also GOOD value for your loonie
I have had the pleasure of eating here many times. Food is consistently good. I usually have the egg veggie bowl with hollandaise sauce. Amazing! Scones and baked goods are very good and the sandwiches and soup. Can’t go wrong with anything there. Staff are...very friendly and the decor has owls of various sizes and materials throughout. A pleasure to visit
We took our family visitors to the Bistro for breakfast and they had their faces fixed for Eggs Benedict and they were not disappointed. They went back on their own to have it again before returning to Ontario. I was so pleased to find a...go to place that we all liked. I will be taking a neighbour this Wednesday morning.
Came across this bakery while shopping in the town, and smelled the bake goods, so had to venture in. The variety of bakery items was vast so decisions took awhile, in the meantime the line got longer. It was certainly a popular place, and we...now know why, the muffins, and breads outstanding.
