The menu is limited but the food, esp. Potato salad and Maultaschen made by the owners mother, are something else. Make reservations on Thursday nights, they open at 6 and are always filled up. Outdoor seating weather permitting! Local hangout at the bar. They make their own schnapps and you can buy it also by the bottle steaks on Wednesday nights, grilled to order. I like mine rare and it was perfectly that! Closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. They slaughter their own animals, open range fed, you can taste that. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful with the open beams and the old world wooden tables and chairs. The OX und Q is tucked in behind a house in the inner city of Weil der Stadt... one of the most beautiful villages in Germany!! The serve THE BEST maultaschen and potato salad that I've every had! It is homemade and served pan-fried, in soup or boiled... and probably other ways too. They have other food but I love the maultaschen so I don't order anything else. The beer is wonderful and the staff are absolutely wonderful!! This is one of my favorite places in the world!!

In preparation for my long weekend with friends in Weil der Stadt und Umgebung I had searched for a place on the net. The name of Ox and Q jumped into my eye, I wanted to know what's behind it and therefore asked my hosts. I heard from them that we always go with a visit. So a table (ordered outdoors and really found for very good: ambience, hospitality, food(!) and price level. Only at the last point is air up: real! That's too cheap with you....
