This used to be one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. In the past (10 years ago) I brough guest from Tokyo, who said it compared to the best in Japan. After not going for years, I went with I friend I used to visit the restaurant who was in from out of town. We went to recapture the magic, but it is gone. Where the sushi bar used to be packed with busy sushi chefs talking enthusiastically in Janpanese, there were only 5 guest seated and the bar, and the kitchen pace was lethargic. Wonderful, friendly service. The food was amazing. We were initially seated in the back room, but it is extremely loud back there which made conversation difficult, so they graciously relocated us to another room, which was perfect. They handled my food, restrictions (celiac/gluten and dairy) extremely well. 
Went here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and we both can say this place is just amazing. The service was pleasant but the food was just another level. We’ve never had fish that tasted so soft and fresh and the rice just melted in your mouth. Slightly pricey but 100% worth it.
Outstanding! Ozumo specialty roll creative and delicious. Hotata san with scallops was terrific. Upscale decor with house music. Prompt and interactive service. Under the bay bridge with beautiful view at night.

Superb cuisine, beautiful decor and location. Only two things need refining at Angler: the place is very noisy in the evenings, and wait staff interrupted conversation at our table many times.
the menu is best described as simple elegance with technology and purpose! the most amazing meal I've ever had, and it's always a tasty to watch that cook over live fires.
Honestly did not feel that it was worth the money. The music was way too loud and did not fit 90s rock really?!
Japanese restaurant… didn’t have Asahi, Sapporo, Kirin Ichiban, all Japanese beers. They said they ran out!

the food was fantastic! the view of the bay bridge was a wonderful addition to the ambiente.
