What a DISASTER ! Just read the recent reviews below, SAME tonight. Arrive 7:55pm, no host in sight, dining room 95% empty, maybe 2-3 tables taken, outdoor patio with a few more. No staff to front door x 1 min then comes Table Busser hardly any English even, he is now the host ? Asks where we want to sit, unaware of OT Resy with request, he confused gets woman server, she sees our Resy seats us as Resy requests, booth-chair. Eventually the removed cold as heck Server “Bob” comes over. Brings wrong non French Napa bubbly, yes almost 2 x the and says ours out no others around. Says their wine list food menu “disappearing” as owner/host Scott now gone (retired” at home) “trying to selling.” Omg...
Excellent! I move to Carlsbad from the Los Angeles area 5 years ago and this is the best meal I’ve had since I moved here. The food was exceptional. I had Chilean sea bass that was so delicious and perfectly prepared. And make sure to try the strawberry and vanilla bean ice cream dessert. Perfect light but satisfying way to end the meal. The service was impeccable. We will go back.
The food was excellent and very good service. The restaurant felt a little empty for a weekend but it allowed for a nice quiet atmosphere for our party of 4 to have a nice dinner conversation without having to talk over noise from tables around us.
Paon continues to be a great restaurant. Was disappointed in some items no longer on the menu such as the salad with pears now with apple. One of our guests must eat gluten free and the flourless cake was no longer available.

Always a fantastic dining experience. We celebrated our anniversary in style with delicious food and beverages. So glad to have this restaurant close by. Looking forward to our next visit.
The pheasant and venison are consistently perfect. Service is professional and attentive.
