Friends travel from tue city of St Marys to come here. White friends and Philo friends. Bring their babies and all.Great service and yum food. Quail was particularly yum. I will find the missing star when they introduce BYO beer (presently BYO wine - or reasonably priced beer Laos, which is fine, but I don't love wine and I really like good beer which beer Laos is not, although it evokes fond memories of "tubing" in Vang Vieng back in 2002, so seriously, what's the dilly-o, make it more social and less chardonnay sipping lame-o and let me enjoy my fine German beers while we eat 9 dishes leaving room for dessert).Apparently the friend ice cream is something else. They were out of that this ev...

Such a nice little restaurant with friend staff and pleasant decor. I wasn't sure what to expect with Laos food but was pleasantly surprised to see hints of Thai and Vietnamese but with their own Laotian twist. The menu comes with indicators on chili, vegetarian and adventure ... the latter has to do with unusual food like the Khai Louk (Duck Egg with partially formed duckling) ... The food is incredibly tasty, well presented and a great price, and I don't think you could go wrong with any dish on the menu. I did try the Khai Louk and was surprised that it tasted as good as it did. Certainly not everybody's taste but if you're feeling adventuresome, then give it a go!

I discovered this restaurant on TripAdvisor and was impressed by the reviews. This is a fantastic little gem. The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The crispy quail and well-balanced, fresh papaya salad were standout dishes. We also tried a salad wrapped in lettuce leaves that was excellent. The calamari was tender and served with a delicious dipping sauce. The waiter, who was the son of the Lao cook, was friendly and helped us make our selections. He was a lovely young man. Located near the airport hotels, I will definitely be returning when I am in the area again.

We decided to try Loa food for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. There were many new flavors for us to enjoy and all of the dishes were delicious. The barramundi cooked in banana leaf was excellent and the crispy rice was a pleasant surprise that shouldn't be missed. The papaya salad was very spicy, despite us choosing the mildest option as recommended, but it was still great. We washed everything down with Lao beer and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. Réservez une table maintenant

Papaya Grill was a delightful surprise in terms of flavor. While the restaurant may not have much in terms of aesthetics, the Lao Asian cuisine served here is truly impressive. Despite being located an hour's drive away from the Northern Beaches in Marrickville, I plan on visiting Papaya Grill many more times in the future. The Lao cuisine offered here is a unique and delicious departure from the typical Asian fare found in Sydney. It is definitely worth trying for anyone who has not yet experienced it.

Previous reviews have nailed how great this little restaurant is, from the authentic Laos dishes to the bustling, helpful servers and great value for money. $50 for two people for three dishes and a glass of wine. Go now!

Authentic Laos. Delicious and fresh. The crispy rice salad is divine, the beef grill was okay but keen to try the chicken. Great atmosphere, well priced and friendly service. A hidden gem worth checking out.
