Waited for maitre d' to notice us standing there to seat us.When he eventually did,there was no greeting,just a wave of the hand and advised to sit anywhere. Cafeteria or Parador ? Service the rest of the time was haphazard and flusterede. At one point my meal was put in front of me with such speed some ended in my lap! Waited ages for our bill and eventually had to go get it ourselves. There was a coach party there at the same time,which could have caused the service to detiorate,but the restaurant was by no means full. The food was OK,nothing more, and seemed lacking in presentation compared to other paradors we have stayed in.
We were staying in the Parador for two nights and since we were arriving late on the first night we booked a table in their Restaurant. It was so good that we also ate there the second night. It also saves having to walk back into Town which is a 20 minute walk up and down hill. We were lucky to have a table by the window with a lovely view. Service is very efficient and the food is good. The Croquetas are excellent but everything was well cooked and a good portion size, we couldn't manage a dessert either evening!
Friendly and helpful staff, but the food is below Spanish standards. 1. Appetizer was some mashed potato with pimenton. Strange.. 2. Croquettas were chewy, soft and without taste. You eat better ones in a truck stop. 3. Steak was great however, for 25 euro.. for 200gr, just some mushroom and 3 asparagus as sides, it's not what it should be. 4. Desert was ok. 5. Coffee a bit clumsy. You saw the staff is doing their best but the food is not backing up their efforts. Won't eat there again.
We stayed for two nights at the Parador and decided to eat at the hotel on the second night. There were four of us and unfortunately I have to say that the meals were not of the standard we expected. The beef sirloin was tough and tasteless and the vegetable paella lacked vegetables and had no flavour For a hotel that prides itself on it's food, it is not an acceptable standard
