Pleasantly surprised by the Paris Cafe located in the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport we made a reservation for 6pm, and we were promptly seated. If you're sitting by the window around sunset, know that you may need some sunglasses ;; we were blasted by the sun but luckily I had my sunglasses so I sat facing the sun so my husband could enjoy his meal without squinting. Because the original architecture of the terminal was kept, there aren't any shades to keep out the glare!Service was great Our server I didn't catch her name : was attentive and sweet, and checked up on us often.Decor it's an open kitchen restaurant really beautifully done! Outside views are the parking lot and the terminal. And of c...

Situated within the iconic TWA terminal designed by Eero Saarinen in 1962 (now transformed into a hotel), the Paris Café offers a vibrant and nostalgic dining experience. The menu, crafted by multi-Michelin Star chef Jean-Georges, draws inspiration from historical in-flight menus of Trans World Airlines, featuring beloved mid-century classic cuisine. While reservations are advised, we were fortunate enough to secure a table on a bustling Friday night without one, right next to the impressive floor-to-ceiling glass window. We enjoyed a fantastic view of both the historic terminal outside and the architectural marvel inside. The service was genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. I began my meal...
Up, up, and away! What a delightful experience! The meals here are nothing short of Michelin-star exquisite. It brings back memories of my trips to Paris in the eighties, hanging out in the Ambassador Lounge. The Paris Café offers a nostalgic journey to 1962 but with the vibrant diversity that was missing back then. Even if you're just visiting and not staying at the TWA Hotel, it’s worth the trip for any gourmet restaurant enthusiast. The filet and the hake were standout entrees, but I need to come back and try everything on the menu. The crispy salmon sushi is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorite appetizers. I highly recommend this place. Their wine and cocktails are perfectly curated....
The restaurant has great potential, but unfortunately, it falls short in several areas. The servers were the best part of my visit; they were friendly and attentive. However, the Caesar salad dressing had a flavor more reminiscent of an herb mustard vinaigrette, which was quite disappointing. The butter for the bread was served in a plastic disposable cup, and while the meat in the burger was of good quality, the outside was burnt. Additionally, the French fries were served cold, and the seat coverings showed significant wear and tear. On the positive side, the wine selection was impressive, and the ambiance in the evening is much more pleasant. Considering the prices, I expected a better ov... Réservez une table maintenant
During our layover, my spouse and I chose to eat at the Paris Cafe. We ordered the crispy salmon, a Caesar salad with salmon, a classic cheeseburger with fries, a refreshing Aperol Spritz, and finished our meal with a delightful lava cake for dessert. While the food was good and we had no complaints, it didn’t quite reach the level of culinary excellence we had hoped for, especially given the slightly higher prices. That said, dining options in the area were limited, making the Paris Cafe the best choice. One standout aspect was the restaurant's unique concept, which transported us back in time, adding a charming touch of nostalgia to our meal. Additionally, our server was warm and attentive...
The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic, with music and design that truly transport you back in time. The service was outstanding, and the views of the terminal are great. As for the food, it was decent but not exceptional given the prices. I particularly enjoyed the Crispy Salmon. The sorbet had an unusual texture, but the flavor was good. The citrus flavor in the Caesar salad was a bit strange. Overall, it was a positive experience. I wish there was a 4.5-star option because a rating of 4 doesn’t quite capture my experience, but it wasn’t quite a 5-star experience either.
I really love TWA, and the Paris Café has fantastic breakfast and service. However, I recently went for dinner and had a disappointing experience. The Coke was flat, I found a hair in my burger, and the service was quite poor. It seemed like the server was trying their best given the staffing situation. The table next to me wasn't satisfied either. After that, I went to Vinny's and enjoyed some amazing cookies, all without having to spend $75.
Without a doubt, Paris Cafe provides an outstanding dining experience, thanks not only to its chic location in the TWA Hotel but also to its superb cuisine. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing a wonderful balance of flavor and texture. However, it does come with a hefty price tag, especially when considering the portion sizes. While the service was generally good, it was a bit slow during our visit. Réservez une table maintenant
Additionally, I had to wait longer than necessary to get the check and leave, but to be fair, I don’t hold it against the staff as they may have had other issues to manage. Overall, I recommend checking out the terminal and perhaps enjoying a drink or a small plate to share, but it’s not worth it for a full meal, despite the cool decor.
