I have been wanting to visit this heritage listed venue for a long time now but I wanted to make the first visit a special one. I finally got the chance when Sarah Blasko played on March 24 2022 as part of her “As Day Follows Night” anniversary tour. She is made for a venue with this character and charm. The building is nearing 100 years of existence and has had a colourful history as a theatre, cinema and live concert venue. the parlour laneers is located directly on the magnificent state theatre and is a gothic caffe with art deco functions in the beautiful qt sydney boutique hotel. while the cozy, small caffeine in the cbd can be noticeable, its coffee can be a little disappointing. the microfoam or little velvety bubbles produced by the steaming milk were thicker and a pronounced layer between espresso and foam. the coffee was also hotly scaled, which led to a flat white that was bitter as usual.
The ambience is unbelievably beautiful. There is so much to look at, it's worth arriving a little earlier than your show so you have time to wander and gaze in awe. The service was professional and the staff is highly approachable. The prices for the beverages do not allow me to recommend getting a drink there but if you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
A classic masterpiece of a theatre just short of a century old. Good viewing from every seat the sound is excellent. The staff are helpful the beverages sweets are well priced and easily attainable. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful. Access by PT is best and secure parking is affordable. Never fails to impress.

I book a tour of this theater today. It was great, the guide was really interesting. You can go on stage and access the backstage, take as much pictures that you want. Just a note, there are too many covid sign and mark inside, it spoils the place and the photos a bit
located on the ground floor of the qt hotel, this small caffe has an amazing feeling. the decoration is top notch but the food offer is simple. it is perfect if they are after a coffee and even a place to lean back and work for the day.
Saw Trixie and Katya’s live show here and the contrast between these two rotted queens and this gorgeous theatre gives me whiplash lmao Also the butterfly room next to the toilets is just a bit stunning, oh man
The interior is amazing and it feels very high-class. We set on the loggia in the back and still had a pretty decent view. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely come again.

A gorgeous theatre that has very comfy seats and a really good view from pretty much any seat in the house. In-house staff are lovely too. Mezanine is arguably the best place to sit.
Very elegant theatre. I did not expect it to be as big nor as steep. Beautiful, ornate ceilings and chandeliers. Kudos to the person who has to climb up to clean them.
