Located at Lake Zurich in a spectacular hotel this comfortable art deco rotunda setting was a fabulous experience worth the required advance planning. The room is bathed in purple with tables adequately spaced to provide privacy. We selected the 7 course pre fix menu which was more then adequate although you can select a 9 course. We elected to pair the menu with wine. You can choose from local, or international wines. I selected international and Gabe selected local Swiss Wine. Im schön gestalteten Pavillon darf in entspannter Atmosphäre sehr diniert werden. Hier kann man erleben und bewundern, wie Küche, Service und Sommelier auf höchstem Niveau die Gäste verzauben. Meine Frau und ich sind begeistert! Jeder Gang war ein geschmackliches Ereignis und die Weinbegleitung war schlicht und einfach perfekt zum Essen abgestimmt. Wer hier noch nie war, hat wahrlich etwas verpasst. Wir sind entschlossen, wieder zurück zu kommen. Tausend Dank an das gesamte Team, welche Gästen so eine Freude zubereitet!
Wir waren zu dritt im Restaurant Pavillon welches zum Hotel Baur au Lac gehört.Entschieden hatten wir uns bereits im Voraus für das Degustations Menu. Das Restaurant ist sehr nett in Weiss und Flieder gehalten, dass Personal war sehr nett und durchaus witzig. Die Speisen sind frisch, nicht zu verspielt, die Portionen für ein Degu Menu waren überraschend gross.Mit 400.- (inkl Internationale Weinreise und Trinkgeld) ist es im Vergleich mit dem Dolder, Atlantis und dem Trio Roy in Basel an der Oberen Grenze preislich
Von der trendigen Rive Gauche Terrasse ging es direkt in das gut besuchte „Le Pavillon“: Architektur im Teller, das 7 - Gang Menu begeisterte. Es fehlt nicht mehr viel für einen weiteren Stern. Vielleicht lag es an der Kombination beim Dessert, die zu einfache Präsentation beim Hauptgericht? Auf jeden Fall lag es nicht am einwandfreien Service. I enjoyed the spring as well as the Summer 9 course Menue Harmonie at the Pavillon. Both were equally excellent. The quality of the dishes, the presentation, the explanations, the service were all equally excellent. The wine accompaniment, you get to choose between a Swiss and an international selection, was also spot on. One can't go wrong having dinner at the Pavillon., it is well worth the 2 Michelin Stars.
Had the 9 course tasting menu. Food and service were fabulous, and this restaurant absolutely deserves its Michelin One Star status, and in truth, I found it on par and/or superior to several 2 stars I've visited. Plan to budget about 200 CHF per person, and that's without wine.
A glittering evening with fellow comrades. Ravished by adventure as a culinary nomad. A heptad in heaven of unlimited depths. Seating at seven taking some breaths. A bon-voyage for take off one to never forget. Oh Pavillon! Share your secrets with beverage, and a sunset.
