We have been to many countries, Asia, India, China, USA Europe etc and this is the most disgusting place we have ever visited, from the start we had to clean our outside chai before we could sit down, we went to the bar. San Miguel and carlsburg on draught. Sorry we don't sell San Miguel. I ordered a glass of wine, it was the worst wine and the only wine on offer and tasted as if the bottle had been open for weeks. The toilets were disgustingly dirty. I had a sneak peak of the kitchen and nearly threw up. The whole place is FILTHY. Social distancing, non-existent, tables were so close. Smoking at tables. No hand gel at the entrance. Staff not wearing mask, waitress continually tying hair up then letting it down without washing hands, also petting the dogs that were in the eating area and then touching plates of food, hands not being washed! The toilet door to the ladies WC was off the hinges, so no barrier to the bar area. The toilet cubicle was also used as a store cupboard. The whole toilet area could of done with a good clean. The food we had was a Sunday roast. It looked ok, but the food was not hot, the Yorkshire pudding was very dry, and the broccoli was hard as nails. Would not recommend the coffee either, very...
We went on recommendation of this place after a long journey from Alhaurin el Grande to buy some furniture last Sunday. We weren’t disappointed. The views were fabulous, the outside seating area was modest but beautifully rustic. The best bit was the beef roasts my husband and i had, the best in a long time. I literally could have stayed there all afternoon, real relaxing and peaceful ambiance. Staff were so welcoming as were the locals inside. Everything was so reasonably priced to the point my hubby had to ask if it was correct! Even though this place is 1 hr and a half away we will without doubt be returning and make a day of the area finishing off with a delicious roast at Pavo Real.
¡Qué pequeña joya de lugar! Nos alojamos localmente y fuimos a cenar y tomar algo, terminamos quedándonos el resto de la noche. El personal y los lugareños expatriados británicos nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos. Pasé una gran noche e hice nuevos amigos. La salsa de ajo y champiñones del chef es para morirse. Paul, el chef, incluso nos preparó algunos para llevar a casa y le dio la receta a mi esposa, ¡qué buen muchacho! Volveremos hoy para almorzar. Mis hijos adolescentes disfrutaron del tablero de dardos y también se sintieron bienvenidos. La merluza estaba increíble, el inglés completo era pukka. No ignores esta pequeña joya en las montañas.
This is a great British restaurant, just outside competa on the coast road . Excellent English Sunday lunch. Chicken or beef, all the trimmings, throw in desert as well and all this for €12.50. I’ve been on many occasions, never lets us down. Good quality food and drink , good service and very friendly. Popular also with the Spanish, who also like a change. Parking just outside the terrace, second car park just before. Pool table inside, darts etc. All international sporting events shown.
An expat haunt up in the mountains near to Competa. If you need your traditional, no frills, Sunday lunch then this is it! We had the choice of roast beef or chicken (cooked on the spit). Good plate full with veg and a large Yorkshire pudding. Beef and Chicken gravy to match your choice. At 9 euros, great value. Need to book, it's popular.
