We popped in after a disappointing time last time to see how things had hopefully moved on. Lovely helpful young female on bar friendly proactive. But nothing else was good. I know it's not nice to hear but seriously this once lovely pub has lots it's way. Quite rough scally now with lads seen using ilegal substances in the toilets. It's hard to control that I get it. Bit like another pub not too far down the rd. It lacks the warm rapport it once had. Tv blasts your ears off its that loud.Such a shame another pub gone down hill.
I used to live nearby and this restaurant underwent a refurbishment a couple of years ago. However, I was quite disappointed by how worn out and neglected it looked when I visited over the weekend. The food was mediocre and unappetizing, and it took a long time to be served despite the quiet atmosphere. Additionally, there was no atmosphere to speak of and no staff checked back with us at all.
I had Hunters chicken that came with chips, but in this case didn 't. When I mentioned this to a member of staff he went to the kitchen then came out and queried what I was saying. I helped him out by showing the menu which clearly said chips in the meal description. The chips arrived in a bowl (french fries not chips) but had to be eaten quickly if you wanted them warm. Not good.
Cheap food but unfortunately easy to see why.. deep fried breaded mushrooms- stone cold, Haloumi- stone cold... kids main turned up wrong.. worst meal I've had out for years.. honestly, don't bother spending your hard-earned cash here.. if they'd bothered asking how the meal was I would have recommended that perhaps the chef should give up his day job

I recently had a wonderful meal at The Peacock with my family. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and Stella provided excellent service. While I enjoyed the experience, I think the prices could be more affordable. I would definitely return for another visit, hopefully in the near future.
The pub on the outskirts of Chester is a charming spot with a great atmosphere. The Sunday lunch was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
Don't like giving poor reviews... But food **** awful cold and cheap..... To be fair it's not dear but be warned its very basic
Good atmosphere, the kids could play, we had a game of pool too, the table takes contactless, which is great.

Good Pub Grub. Nice staff. I was driving, so I didn't get a chance to try the beer. I would go back.
