I used to visit this cafe at the university frequently, until recently. The quality and variety of the food are good, but the increasing prices of the meals have made it difficult for students on a budget to dine there. When I asked for a student discount, a female staff member informed me that there was no discount available after 9.30am. I finally received a 5% discount, but it was not significant enough. Sadly, I can no longer afford to eat here and I believe many students in similar situations would also find it disappointing.

Within the grounds of RMIT, this is a great little Cafe with lots of seating that looks to be used by students and staff. Seating is plentiful both inside and out and there are lots of options to eat from (e.g. salads, soups, rolls, etc),...and makes good coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Service was quick too which helps when time is limited. I would recommend.
Located in the heart of Melbourne near the RMIT University campus, Pearson and Murphy's Cafe provides a warm and inviting setting for enjoying coffee, tea, sandwiches, and snacks. Although popular among academics and students, the cafe deserves more recognition for its atmosphere and offerings.

Not really the heart of Melbourne but there is something different and special about student venues a good comfortable café full of students and lecturers a little expensive but if you are at the RMIT for meetings, it is too far to go...back to mainstream Melbourne for food or coffee.
went to this little café on my last trip to Melbourne and I enjoyed my time. coffee was good and the lunch also. the atmosphere is cute and relaxing. it's a good spot for a coffee or drink to chat or for a meeting.
A bit tucked away near the rear of the Old Melb jail. P&M is a break from the traditional Uni cafe scene and offers good coffee and breakfast. Great meeting point on campus
they have gone a few paints into this caffe is now beautiful outdoor-hoof area is something of a quiet oasis in the heart of the city. also good coffee!

coffee is not bad, and is more open and relaxed than some of the other unis. the service was good and a lot of seating. Very nice.
