Thought it 'd be nice to show some homemade recipes instead of the typical here 's what the inside of a grocery store looks like just to give you a sense of the breadth a place like this can give you! Made kimchi fried rice and a coconut chiffon cake entirely with ingredients bought at this whole foods! Very easy to find all the ingredients I needed, even though the best option would have honestly been a 99 ranch to get the ingredients for much much cheaper (hence the 4 of 5 stars rating, not for this whole foods in particular but in general for the whole foods chain . In any case, here are the recipes for the pictured items again, all the ingredients are available at this whole foods the items that justify the cost are specifically the eggs (for which you really can taste the quality of the egg compared to average eggs you 'd buy at costco . If you can, try to get kimchi at a korean supermarket, so it can be the large jar that is the best deal around. The best option for the large jar of kimchi is to (pro tip alert! get a bunch of smaller mason jars and split up the kimchi so it doesn 't rot. It 's also important you never double dip the kimchi jar ie make sure you take out as much kimchi as you need per sitting into a clean separate bowl, as opposed to sticking chopsticks in your mouth each time you eat a bite, then going back into the jar gross! You 'll only infect the jar with the teeming bacteria in your mouth! Finally, a note on the chiffon cake make sure you whip the meringue well, preferably with an electronic mixer if you have access to one. That or incredibly strong forearms. Kimchi fried rice (recipe is from NYTimes INGREDIENTS 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 small onion, medium dice 1 cup roughly chopped kimchi (6 ounces 2 tablespoons kimchi juice, or to taste 1/2 cup small dice Spam, ham or leftover cooked meat 2 cups cooked, cooled rice (preferably short grain 2 teaspoons soy sauce, or to taste 1 teaspoon sesame oil, or to taste 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 4 eggs Salt to taste Green onion for garnish PREPARATION In a nonstick sauté pan or well seasoned cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium low heat, and add onions. Cook, stirring, until the onions start to sizzle, about 2 minutes. Add kimchi and kimchi juice, and stir until it comes to a boil, about 3 minutes. Add Spam, and cook until sauce is nearly dried out, about 5 minutes. Break up the rice in the pan with a spatula, and stir it to incorporate. Turn heat to medium. Cook, stirring, until the rice has absorbed the sauce and is very hot, about 5 minutes. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Taste, and adjust with more soy sauce, sesame oil or kimchi juice. Turn heat down slightly, but let the rice continue to cook, untouched, to lightly brown while you cook the eggs. Place a small nonstick sauté pan over medium heat, and add the vegetable oil. When it is hot, add eggs, season with salt and fry to your desired doneness. Serve rice topped with fried eggs, nori and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. I'm surprised that during this pandemic, that the sidewalks are not pressure washed of dirt, spit and gum. I personally touched the Permanent plants while standing in line for 25 minutes. They're dry and out of water. business hours are shortened. Paint or sanding picnic tables. Let's care about the outside and give another employee a job. Drab and no excuses for NOT tending to the exterior. WE SEE THIS STANDING 6' apart for 30 minutes... I DID.

I've had multiple awful experience with this whole Food store. They lack multiple items comparing to their neighborhood stores, such as the Redwood City and San Mateo ones. The store workers aren't friendly nor knowledgeable about their products. They made me feel like I'm bothering them whenever I ask a question about a store item. I'd do my business else where.

Always excellent! Much better than all other markets in town. Helpful staff throughout the store, and I love the size of WFM, Palo Alto. Elsa at quick check is the best!!
