Entering Peggy Sue's feels like stepping back in time. With its black-and-white checkered floor, red vinyl seats, and Formica tabletops, the ambiance is reminiscent of a scene from "American Graffiti." The walls are adorned with nostalgic 1950s memorabilia: black-and-white photos of icons like James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Marilyn Monroe, along with classic advertisements and images of historical events from that era. Ordering is done at the counter, with the menu and prices displayed overhead, paying upfront in a fast-food style. They offer no less than 12 different types of burgers! In the hot summer months, I often order the $9.55 Chicken Fajita Salad, while my wife opts for the $9.45 H...

The most basic burger with Swiss cheese. It was pretty damn good! It's basically a dive bar but in a burger joint version. I would definitely come back. Great customer service. They told me where all the condiments were. I went to the bathroom.... Not that clean but not that dirty. Expected from the type of place this is."

A 1950s style eatery with previously decent food, but in our recent experience, the service was terrible and the food just eh . Last Thursday evening, around 5:30 pm, my wife and I ate here for dinner before a play at the nearby performing arts center. We have eaten here before for basic food with quick service. That was not to be on this visit. FIrst, there was only one person working there. He was taking orders and preparing food, one order at a time. It was a very slow process. We were the first in line after he took the order of the family in front of us. We waited 20 minutes before he took our order! The line had grown all the way to the door with many people waiting. If it wasn 't for...
We stopped here before an event at the Civic Auditorium because I wanted to find something tasty and fast. I 'm sort of a sucker for the classic American diner experience, so I figured I 'd get a burger, fries, and a shake. I feel like I should get to the centerpiece here, which was the burger. It was bad. Real bad. Like the bottom shelf frozen patty you 'd buy in bulk from a grocery store. The fries were ok, but nothing to write home about. The shake was ok, but over-syrup-ed vanilla to get to chocolate. My girlfriend got onion rings; probably the best thing we had, but about Denny 's level quality. The staff were nice, but curtly informed me that none of the alcoholic drinks were available...
I ended up at Peggy Sue's since Our House On Park Ave is closed on Sundays. I was intrigued by the cute name and the diner vibe. I can only speak to the burger and fries, although the menu has a lot more to offer. Unfortunately, the burger was mediocre at best. It lacked flavor, and I couldn't understand why they even asked how I wanted it cooked, as the patty was so thin that it came out well done. This was the blandest burger I've ever had, and the fries were unseasoned as well. The texture of both items felt like low-quality food, and the prices were surprisingly high for what you get. I cannot recommend Peggy Sue's burgers. If you're looking for a burger, I'd rate Johnny Rockets five sta... Réservez une table maintenant
I've tried this place a few times, hoping the next one will be good enough. Naw. The service was friendly which was why we got a few stars then I subtracted some cause the food was meh. I already knew I haven't had much luck with the burgers (overcooked or bland or such) so went with the hot link this time. I liked that! It was served with some diced tomato and onion. Saw the hype about the world's best shake so snagged one of those too. It was ok! The usual huge portion of that so if you like shakes, they got ya covered there! They also have a full bar now with a special on shots till end of December. I really hope the place figures out their niche cause having a fun retro diner downtown is...
Had to stop for breakfast because of the kitsch. Thanks for all of the Yelp photos! If you loved the 50s and diner nostalgia this place even beats Disney's Prime Time Cafe. The photos with autographs, milkshake machine, music and the Thrifty ice cream; even the waitress dresses. Our server seemed like she had grown up working here. She was super friendly and even suggested ordering the French toast with bacon instead of French toast with a side of bacon to save because you get 3 pieces either way. The food was decent but nothing to day dream about and it was overpriced for a diner in the middle of nowhere. Cost 43 after tip for breakfast for 3 with coffee. Make sure you poke your head into t...
We stopped by this restaurant because we had limited time before heading to a show at the theater. The service was a bit on the slow side. They do have a full bar, but unfortunately, there was no bartender available. Additionally, the restroom ran out of toilet paper, even though several customers informed the manager about it. He seemed overwhelmed with taking and calling out orders, as well as managing the bar. Poor guy. However, the burgers here are truly amazing! That's why I'm giving it a solid 4 stars. They're flavorful and cooked to perfection. They even offer lettuce-wrapped burgers. The menu also includes salads, milkshakes, soups, and hot dogs—everything you'd expect from a diner....
You order chorizo and eggs, which in the description says served with hash browns and toast. Eggs served any style. All I get was chorizo, eggs and tortilla wrap. I asked the person at the front if they could actually give me toast and they said, no it 's served with tortilla . No apology for the replacement. No explanation. Just didn 't want to actually give me what 's on the menu description. And the worst part is, if you look at the kitchen in the back, you can clearly see buns/bread in their wrap. The quality and service is just flat out lazy. It 's a shame. I enjoyed my time here several years ago. I 'll never come back here again. Réservez une table maintenant
This was a short walk from our hotel, with a few outdoor tables with umbrellas for a pet friendly establishment. The interior was a 50s theme. The menu also had mostly sandwiches, soup, burgers and milkshakes. We ordered a BLT w/avocado and fish and chips. Out BLT was great. The fish gets a C- but the fries were very nice, crispy on the outside tender inside. I peeked at another order and saw a sandwich just as thick and delicious looking as ours. The counter lady was friendly and helpful. We recommend this for lunch or a quick dinner. They also serve breakfast. They allow free refills of soda fountain drinks.
