I recently visited a Wetherspoon's and had a great experience despite receiving the wrong meal. I had ordered a chicken jalfrezi but was served a vindaloo instead. However, the server was very attentive and quickly rectified the mistake. He apologized, replaced my meal with the correct dish, and even provided me with a complimentary drink. His excellent customer service and sense of humor made the situation much better. If this is the standard for Wetherspoon's customer service, they should be commended. I will definitely be returning thanks to this positive experience. It's how you handle mistakes that truly matters, and this server did an outstanding job. Full marks!
We ordered an Eggs Benedict breakfast and a traditional breakfast. Unfortunately, the Eggs Benedict tasted terrible (apparently from a different supplier) and was served on toast instead of a muffin. The traditional breakfast was also disappointing as it was stone cold, with only the plate being hot. There were very few beans on the plate as well. The coffee machines were not working properly. It seems like the quality of Wetherspoon's food has declined recently, despite the increasing prices. I asked for a refund and the staff member was apologetic. It seems that other tables were also complaining about the quality of their food.
This was my first visit to the Penny Black but it will not be my last. I had the vegetarian breakfast and my husband had the traditional breakfast for less than £5.00 each. We also had coffee for £1.45 each with as many refills as we wanted. I have read some of the poor reviews on here and wondered if we went to the same place. Perhaps the reviewers were comparing their experience to a fine dining restaurant (with the fine dining price tag!! . We both agreed this must be the best value for money breakfast available in the UK. Well done and it's a 10 from us.
We are regular customers at penny black because the villa maria sauvignon blanc is superb the food is basic but acceptable s a rule ,ILAST NIGHT i tried the Turkey christmas dinner ,the first plate I sent back because it was cold ,they would only change it for the same which Ileft on the table u touched ,it was disgusting ITS WITHOUT DOUBT THE WORSEfood I have paid for in my lifetime ,iAM ASHAMED TO Say IPAID FOR IT ,even the pigs would refuse to eat that , I WAS NOT ASKED ABOUT THE FACT i left it on he table ,maybe they were ashamed to ask me ,

Why is it so difficult to order gluten-free food from Wetherspoons now ? No paper menus and the touch screen displays are confusing to staff and customers alike. Despite applying the gluten-free filter, items which were not GF kept coming up. Difficult to see how anyone who is coeliac can now risk eating in Wetherspoons. This is where order automation does not work
Wanting lunch on a Thursday, I chose from the special curry menu, a beef curry, and was not disappointed. The meal was well-cooked and presented, and very tasty, if a little hot for my palate. The service was friendly and efficient, and the venue seemed busy and convivial. Recommended.
Perfect for those looking for affordable, tasty meals that are served early in the day. This spot is known for offering great value for your money, as well as delicious coffee and tea options. The restaurant also has plenty of seating available.
Breakfast came out cold, so we complained, guy asked what we would like him to do, good job hubby replied before I had a chance to. They brought out another two breakfasts, much hotter this time. Glad they made the effort.

Toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired if you’re trying beak up. Had to sit on toilet with foot up against the door. Not ideal!
Best place in Northwich for a slow and cold breakfast. Ordered via the app took 45 mins to arrive about as warm as a snowball.
