This is my fifth coffee house I visited on my week-long stay in Evansville and the worst. My latte was bland and watered down. I recommend going elsewhere. Check out Mission Grounds or Honey Moon Coffee instead. Also the owner likes to insult their customers. I actually visited your shop a couple months ago and the drink was mediocre at best but I thought I'd give it another try. I travel a lot for work and always visit local shops versus big chains. Penny Lane Coffeehouse is a place to go when you want to wine down and relax. I’ve been supporting this local business for a while and moved away about 10 months ago and is the reason I had to move back. This beautiful establishment with its unique character that does not match any other local coffee shop in town made me even more home sick than ever! I’m so happy to be back in Evansville which is not my birth home but my chosen home that my heart chose. Penny Lane Coffeehouse is definitely a must try for any coffee lover and even non-coffee lovers because they offer way more than just coffee!! They have breakfast and lunch for foods and I’ve attached the picture of the menu in this review....
I could go on and on about how much I love this place. Their coffee and food are amazing. The employees are always so kind, and it's such a cool atmosphere to chill and work. Their bookcase and local art displays make it such a fun vibe. Always something cool to check out. There's street parking and a dedicated parking lot beside the building. A little tight for parking if you have a large vehicle. There's a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating for such a small space, but it can definitely get busy at times. I love the culture and variety of people who hang there. It isn't just a college student hangout.
While staying the night in Evansville on our way through, my wife and I decided to do a quick check for any local weekend vegan dining. We stopped by the Penny Lane Coffeehouse and tried a VeggieWrap and The Santana along with a strawberry smoothie. Excellent stuff. The music wasn 't quite to my taste that night, but the atmosphere was enjoyable. Definitely recommended for some vegan friendly food.
my family of vegan ordrerd two organic soy smoothes. as tasteless and watered down no one willing to finish our bland drinks. they also sold a few good looking vegan desserts; not fool. their hummus peta as well as the grilled Veggie sandwich were supposed to be the best on the menu, but the portions were small compared to the price. dissatisfied and still hungry, we were looking for the door.
This place was great. Good sandwiches and good service. However there isn't much seating indoors so we had to sit down outside. There were multiple people smoking. That's not what we wanted to smell while we were eating breakfast so we left. I wish they had a no smoking policy. A sign for no smoking within 50 ft from the building would be nice. I expect smoking at a bar not a breakfast cafe.
