This restaurant is incredible! The rustic industrial atmosphere is amazing, with unique paintings on the walls, quirky lights, and a lot of attention to detail in the interior design. The food is fantastic, with unexpected combinations of ingredients that work so well together. The coffee roasted by Penny's is smooth, rich, and deep. Located conveniently in Kingston, it's just a short walk to the promenade along the lake.
I think we were super lucky to get a table when we did! We came for breakfast on a chilly Sunday morning and there was only one table outside. While we were out there, the front window filled up with takeaway orders. This place is popular! We got the pialligo hash and the okonomiyaki pancake. Both were amazing. I couldn't have been happier with the food. Also, coffee is great. They have a double shot as standard. Awesome.
Delicious and more!! This charming cafe is excellent. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is attentive, and there is a good variety of menu options, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian choices. The coffee is exceptional. I will certainly visit again on my next trip to Canberra! And as you can tell from the last picture, there were no issues cleaning up the plate!
Beautiful, rustic and ambient cafe! The staff were delightful and the menu had a fantastic variety. Vegan and vegetarian friendly along with many others (for those who may be coeliac or lactose intolerant). The meals were delicious and very beautifully presented. Incredibly generous portions! This restaurant is a hidden gem! We were on our way to another cafe for lunch when we noticed how busy Penny University was, and we decided to give it a try. The crowds were right - the coffee and food were delicious, and the prices were really good! We will definitely be returning.
Fantastic food using fresh produce and obviously cooked with love because it tasted so damn good!!! Must try the gnocchi- definitely died and went to heaven!! Yum�
