I had the beef dip with mushrooms and onion. It was ok! My fiance however had a horrible experience. He ordered gravy smothered turkey with mashed potatoes. It was sliced deli meat. Gross. I don't eat potatoes so my mashed with gravy came on a separate plate saved with a side of hair. Told the waitress and she snuffed it in a grouchy manner but brought a new plate. The waitress only came by once to fill our coffee and she only refilled mine and left him empty. Had to flag down another waiter to get our bill. Not a good experience for the first time in.
The hot roast beef sandwich is amazing. Huge and delicious. The Cowboy Breakfast with chicken fried steak is always a favorite choice for breakfast. Their Friday fish fry is really good also. Their Garbage Omelet is really good. Especially when the top it with their sausage gravy. One of the things that keep me coming back besides the good food is the wonderful service that I have received there.
The fish fry was awesome, however they jacked the price up, the fish pieces are way smaller and the all you can eat has been restricted to 6 pieces. What a rip off. Now they charge for extra tartar sauce, which is half full of an already small container. Used to get 2 per plate, now it's just half of one. This was a weekly trip for fish fry for many years, now I will never go back.
Friday fish fry still tastes great. Service, owner cut hours, they close at 7pm. And atmosphere felt off. Half the dining room was closed off and guests crammed into open half. Last but not least price of the order increased exponentially. SMH restaurant is slowly sinking into non existence.
