Perkup Cafe In West Des Mo

Cute little cafe. The caramel macchiato is good. However, the food is WAY overpriced for the food you get. Been here a couple times. Today I got the chicken strips with a side of beef stew. The chicken strips were frozen then fried, and it was not good. I ate part of one, and then I just couldn’t. You get three chicken strips. Then, the soup was like canned beef stew, and not even the good kind. Like overpriced vegetable soup. I ate like two bites of that. The waitress knew I didn’t like it, and said sorry. I know she doesn’t cook it, but no discount was offered for the obvious dislike of the food, because most of it was still left on the plate. The other food I’ve had here is hit and miss....

Overall first impression was not very inviting,staff was busy lunch was just awful. French dip sandwich came out sooo rubbery. My kid found a long piece of hair in her salad, and the whole experience for the cost was just disappointing. Neadless to say we will not return.

Very nice little breakfast spot. Love the variety of menu items- some fun different takes on breakfast- and then the traditional breakfast options as well
